Here we go again... maybe.

My boss asked me today if I could make a life-sized Iron Man for Iron Man 2. I'd have to finish it within a few weeks, of course. I'm not sure if I want to do it or not. I do, but I have so much other crap going on that I don't know if I can handle this on top of it. I said I would do it if he got the supplies REALLY soon so I don't have to rush. ( Read more... )

Would you get paid for the time you spent working on it? If so I say go for it. Extra $$$ never hurts.

Not extra, no. If I came in on extra time and did it, I'd get paid for that, but if I work on it during my shift, I don't get paid extra. Last big project I worked on (see tags for Up), I saved up about a week of vacation time staying after my shift and keeping track of the overtime for later use. This time, though, I have too much going on to be at work any more than absolutely necessary.

Yeah, I would really love to do one big last hoorah at this theatre. I'm gonna try. If he gets me some supplies to start with by Thursday, I'll do it. If not, I really can't take the stress of rushing it. We'll see.

Yes good idea. There's no point putting too much on your plate, but if the supplies are ready and you have time and enthusiasm for it then you definitely should. :))
