Do you have an MSN? c8 I always would like to be in contact with people I know orz|||
Anyway, I'm totally writing a review of the game I used to/am obsessing over
SUIKODEN TIERKREIS~~
Suikoden Tierkreis has very little to nothing to do with the other Suikoden games, it's also the first and only Suikoden I've ever played and it hurts me that it gets so little love ;A;
Summary:
The protagonist is a 15 years old boy named Sieg, actually, he's nameless, we give him whatever name we want to name him. But that's what Suikopedia says, and many other sites |D. He lives in Citro Village with his childhood friends: Marica and Jale, and 3 years ago Liu came from God knows what place and also became his friend. Sieg is in the group called Defense Corps under the command of Dirk, their older brother figure.
When our heroes went out to kill of some annoying monsters called Laggarts, a forest appeared out of nowhere and Sieg is surprised by that while the others say that it was always there. They went to the forest ruins, got attacked by a weird monster and ran deeper into the ruins to find another exit since the monsters were blocking the main exit.
At the end they found a book lying there, Sieg touched the book and saw a vision where some people were fighting someone, Marica and Jale also saw it and they all realized that the forest wasn't, indeed, here before, while Liu and Dirk saw nothing.
They gained powers named "Mark of the Stars" and here is where their long adventure begins, where they must defeat the Order of the One True Way that thinks that the future is already predetermined and they want to summon the One King with the help of 12 Chronicles (the book that SIeg found was one of them) to DESTROY OUR LOVELY MOTHER RUSSIA- I mean....fuse every world into one world where the future is already known :I.
Sieg creates a Company which consists of Starbearers meaning the people that get the Mark of the Stars by touching a Chronicle. His HQ is a castle ruin found north to the forest.
Gameplay:
Suikoden Tierkreis is an epic Role-playing game, that pretty much resembles Final Fantasy on DS, there's no save point in the menu, you have to find them wherever they are (they're often in inns, though not all of them) monsters just randomly pop out in dungeons, and we have those battle options:
Start Battle:
- Normal attack - 'nuff said
- Mark of Stars - Magical attacks that uses up our MP
- Cooperative attack - a group attack of 2-4 persons, some of them damage all foes while some of them only one
Defend - 'nuff said
Items - 'nuff said
Auto Battle:
The DS system battles for you, lazy bums :I
Escape:
If you don't know what I mean, you're stupid
(available only with a certain support character) Spark:
It doesn't work on strong monsters, so don't get your hope up :I this command makes you earn EXP points when you run away
There are 108 (minus hero, Marica, Jale and Liu who are auto-recruits) recruitable characters in the game, like in every Suikoden game, there are 4 persons that join you to battle, but they're not recruitable, most of these recruits are fighting in a battle, but some of them are support characters. You really don't have to recruit them all, but it gives you the ONE TRUE ENDING ;w; (my sister didn't get it, so I WILL HA -shot-)
Also, what's funny is that when you're traveling on the world map, it takes you days, weeks, months to get to some places, and when you get a quest with something like: "OMG, THE CASTLE IS BEING ATTACKED, WE MUST HURRY AND SAVE IT" and you appear to be far away from this place, it takes you around 15 days to arrive, so the castle should've been destroyed by now loooool
Same thing with the "I'm done" and "I have to do something first" choices, you choose the 2nd one and they tell you to hurry up, but it actually doesn't matter if you take months to do what you want :>
-cough- anyway, let's get on...
Graphics:
Pretty, anime-style character arts, the sprites are 3D and quite lovable, the background/scenery is nicely done, and the characters all have different poses/faces which gives them some emotions, not like some games I saw *glares at Eternal Eden, Aveyond 1 and Ahriman's Prophecy*
Soundtracks/Voices:
The critics of Tierkreis says that the English dub was totally lame :< attached to the great Japanese seiyuus I guess~~
The music is really really REALLY fitting and nice, omg it's been a while since I played a game with such amazing soundtracks ;w;
Overall:
Totally recommending you this, especially for girls, there are a lot of cute/sexy bishies there (I COULD FAP OVER ROBERTO, ASAD, JALE, AND MANY MORE FOR HOURS OH GOD) -shot-
Play it, cause I said so, a must have for every RPG lover
108 characters and groups/species:
Okay, there are more than 1 species here, which is normal since it's a fantasy RPG, and fantsay RPGs without other species than human are just plain boring.
Species:
Human: You're stupid if you need a description
The Porpos-Kin: Cute dolphin-penguin creatures that can live under water and on the land
The Furious Roar: Anthros ;w; Animals that stand on 2 legs and wear clothes, 'nuff said
The Auster Folk: Giants with a horn on their forehead, they're known to be extremely strong.
Tribes/Groups:
Scribes: A tribe of tatooed people, they're taking care of/guarding the Chronicles.
Wanderers: Merchants, they travel around worlds to sell and import goods, they're all kind of plum and always wear glasses :I
Blades of Night's Veil: A group of nights that joined the Magedom forces after their homeland was occupied by the Order
Magedom of Janam: People of the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia -shot- I mean.....Alladi- -shotx2- a kingdom ruled by King Danash VIII, as the name shows, a kingdom with high magic forces, also the main resistance of the Order
Archivists: Librarians, they're working for the Order and were sent to steal the Chronicles.
This is just me wanting to kill myself time, since I have nothing to do and describing every character is so fun 8D
.........................
I actually will describe the characters someday later, tyvm orz|||
