I would say I need to get on this whole updating thing but I'm coming to terms with fall being a mostly lost cause every year. Although I love you dearly fall, this whole crazy-busy schedule mixed with less sunlight to keep me going and healthy thing may not be working out quite so well.
Regardless, exciting things have been happening!
And I shall list them in point form for brevity (ha):
- I am 26 now! Yay! I am now properly into my second quarter of a century!
- To celebrate I made people come with me towent to the zoo with some of my friends. We went on the roller-slide! And watched a polar bear play with an Asahi beer keg. They had anteaters, ocelots, koalas, wild asses, and a petting zoo where you could take out guinea pigs to pet and cuddle. After we went for dinner at Outback Steakhouse where I had the shrimp caesar salad and most of two desserts because someone kept it a secret that I was getting the birthday song with tambourines and a free dessert.
- Knitting club has started and we actually have new members!
- A craft store with nice yarn and the kind of bamboo needles I like opened in the mall near my house. This is dangerous and thrilling as I no longer have to go all the way into Gifu city for needles. They have James Dean yarn. It's manly label looks funny in with all the girly yarn. When the 20% off everything sale is over I will be safer.
- The local persimmons have ripened.
- I found a copy of Chicken Run for 5 dollars. (Laugh all you want I love that movie.)
- I found a copy of the extended LotR Two Towers for 25 dollars.
- I made jack o' lanterns at one of my elementary schools. The teacher who enabled this cut her palm open (her non-dominant hand, thank goodness!). But none of the kids in the 5 classes who made them hurt themselves, even the older ones who were doing their own cutting.
- I have booked and payed for a 5-day trip to Okinawa with Yumiko during Christmas break.
- Made it through interviewing students from Heather's JHS and mine for the Canada exchange trip in January. The kids seem to have come through mostly intact as well.
- I have gotten hooked on
Glee and am enjoying the new
Merlin season.
- The leaves are beginning to change colours and I wore a jacket out for the first time last night.
And that's been life recently. Aside from the normal working part which is also going pretty well. Aside from one bum grab (from a girl) nothing particularly strange has happened on that front. And despite what looked like an oncoming cold earlier this week the fish and I are doing pretty well!
