In an effort to be less totally oblivious to the news at home I've started listening to The Current with Anna Maria Tremonti from CBC radio. Do you guys stream/download any news or news podcasts? Any recommendations? I don't always have the time or the motivation to read the news but I do walk to school every day so I'm thinking of turning that ( Read more... ) -
Fall is coming!
And Sports Day is almost upon us here in Japan! Or at least it is in my neck of the rice fields. I already have my $5 Uniqlo shirt to support Aka-dan (red team) and I'm integrated myself into the scoring table so I can at least look like I have something to do XD Yes, I am sneaky like a cicada, I am. Recent events update.
So, what's been happening. It's been really rainy but I can handle that because rain usually means cooler temperatures and less humidity. So far the humidity has resisted that trend today but maybe it will conform after it's rained for a little bit longer ( Read more... ) -
Some days I love my desk job.
Like today, when it's raining so hard that it's like a curtain outside the window. We've already had two split-second power outages and thunder is occassionally rolling through like an audio earthquake. I am also glad that I forgot my umbrella here a few days ago because I walked today. The teachers who were doing clubs outside all look fresh out ( Read more... ) -
Why I love my office job.
Once again my children floor me. Two of my cool boys wander into the office still in summer garb: hair all dyed and fluffed, cool t-shirts, baggy jeans, one with a (not school issued) school bag on his back in the rebel style with the hand grips over his shoulders, flashy camera around his neck and... is that a Mickey Mouse hanging around his neck ( Read more... ) -
