Yesterday, no, it was Wednesday I came home from a work function, sick with a head cold. I turned on my tv, planning on relaxing before I passed out. On the "articulate" issue...
I was listening to NPR where two women were discussing the quote about Obama. At one point, one of the women commented that she was often told that she was "articulate", but she had a PhD (in some social sciences). A white person of her position would never be told they were articulate.

I had just been assuming that she was white, and I needed to revise my picture of her, and my understanding of everything she said. I haven't had my prejudices pushed in my face that many times before. It was very interesting.
