There are actually privacy laws forbidding students from seeing each other's grades, depending on where you live and what school you attend.
I would go to the dean (or whoever's in charge). That poor student doesn't need to be humiliated like that, and your right, it's not your problem.

wow, i was a little surprised to see this. That was a ways back. I argued so much that I think the teacher got really tired of it. My main argument was that it has been some time now since laws were passed making this whole degrading procedure illegal.

This was Massage Therapy school, by the way, so having students of vastly different experiences and intellect was something to be expected a bit more than usual. I also have a teaching degree, which is why the quirks of my instructor, who doesn't, got to me so much.He's a good guy, really, just. . . kinda new at this.
