It's been a while

I haven't felt motivated to post in ages. Hopefully I haven't completely disappeared from the collective consciousness.

Three of my books now appear on Amazon. I was far more excited about this than cool logic should suggest. The mark-up makes it unlikely that anyone will buy them there. But there's something about having one's work appear in the ( Read more... )

Welcome back - and congratulations on getting your books on Amazon. Woo hoo!!

It looks like everyone here either had or knew someone who had a crabapple tree. For me, it was the nasty little girl's family across the street. They just let the crabapples fall and took their time cleaning them up, so it was kind of icky. I'm glad there's some use to be made of them, though!

Yes, it's really not a great idea to have fruit lying around being messy. Fortunately the sheep gobble up any dropped ones :-)

Our neighbors in Grand Rapids had a couple of beautiful crabapple trees. Once during a late winter snow, after the trees had leafed out, we heard a ginormous crack! and crash!. One of their crabapples had just split right in two from the weight of the snow on the leaves. They are lovely in bloom, so we missed having that to look at.

I got a Sony Cybershot for Christmas and I've loved it. It goes with me everywhere because it's so thin it fits in my pocket. One thing to mind, make sure to buy one of those memory card reader/usb sticks. That means you can take the memory card out and download your pics without having to wear out the motor on the camera every time you want to empty the memory card.

Congrats on the Amazon listing!

My laptop has a slot that takes the memory card. Much easier than plugging in the camera via USB. I hadn't thought of the wear-and-tear issue, though! That makes it even better.

You are far less likely to "disappear from the collective concious" than I! It's always good to see your name in the queue. Congrats on the book listings - a very prominent way of proving that you've "made it"!
