Title: The Charm Of An Eye Smile
Pairing: SooFany
Rating: PG/PG-13
Genre: Comedy/Romance/Drama
Summary: All bubbly, cheerful Tiffany wanted to do was be friends with "Bloody Knuckle Sooyoung", the new transfer student with a mysterious and violent past. Two completely different people. But then again, opposites do attract.

----------------------

After the mysterious Sooyoung left her, Tiffany pulls the towel off her head and stares at it. She snaps out of her thoughts, remembering she was wet thanks to Gayoon. She puts the towel back on her head, ruffling it around her hair to dry herself. Tiffany jumps when the bell suddenly rings.

"Crap! I still need to get my essay!" Tiffany curses. She stands up to hurry to her locker, droplets of water flying as her wet air floats as she runs, her backpack weighing her down. Tiffany clutches tightly to the towel while running.

--------------------

Tiffany manages to retrieve her English essay. To her dismay, she was late to class.

She opens the door and quickly bows to the teacher. "I'm sorry I'm late, Ms. Hyori! I'm sorry!" She does several more bows.

"Tiffany! Why are you all wet?!" Ms. Hyori exclaims.

Tiffany rubs the back of her neck, trying to think of an explanation. She couldn't blame Jessica and her crew since she didn't have proof they were the ones that drenched her in water. "Err..."

Ms. Hyori senses her uneasiness and sighs. "Okay okay. Please just turn in your English essay and take a seat."

Tiffany hands her paper to Ms. Hyori and heads to her seat, avoiding eye contact with the people she passes by. Ahead of her pathway she sees Eunhyuk and Taecyeon snickering.

"Hey Tiffany. I can see your bra through your shirt," Eunhyuk whispers.

"Oh my God, you can?!" Tiffany gasps.

"SIKE! Just messing with you." Taecyeon high fives Eunhyuk. Soon afterward, Tiffany whips both of them with the towel.

"Ugh you guys are so disgusting! Perverts..." She hisses, annoyed. Tiffany takes her seat near the back of the class right in front of Soyeon.

Ms. Hyori taps the whiteboard with her marker. "Okay everyone! Please take your textbooks and turn to page 67 and...." Tiffany ceases to listen when Soyeon taps her shoulder.

"What happened? I'm pretty sure you were dry when you left us," Soyeon whispers.

"It was Jessica and her followers," she whispers back. "But it was Gayoon who did this to me..."

"What about Gayoon?"

Tiffany turns her attention to the short haired girl with sunglasses over her eyes who was another friend of theirs. "She's the reason why I'm wet, Jiyoon."

Jiyoon blinks a couple of times. "Gayoon really did this to you?" Tiffany nods. "That surprises me..." Soyeon and Tiffany look at Jiyoon with puzzled expressions.

"Well anyway," Soyeon begins. "I know Jessica hates your guts and all... but I think allowing one of her girls to harrass you like this is going to far."

"SOYEON! TIFFANY! JIYOON!" Ms. Hyori yells. The three friends jump in their seats and quickly turn their heads to the front. "Stop talking and start the classwork already! And Jiyoon! Didn't I tell you to stop wearing your sunglasses in the classroom?"

Jiyoon pouts and pushes her sunglasses upward, letting them rest on her head. "Guess we'll have to talk about this later."

Tiffany and Soyeon nod. Soyeon takes the textbook in front of her and begins flipping through the pages.

"Pssst. What are we suppose to do again?" she asks.

--------------------

The final bell rings and the school day was over. The eager students quickly dismiss themselves from their last classroom of the day, wanting to be free from the clutches of their teachers.

Tiffany, now completely dry, is among her friends Gyuri, Sunye, Boram, Soyeon, and Jiyoon. She tells the rest of her friends of her encounter with the evil Class President and her subordinates. After hearing what happened to her friend, Sunye hisses in annoyance. "Tiffany you should have totally slapped that bitch," she says.

"Sunye..." Gyuri warns. "Your language please." Sunye mouths an 'oops' and apologizes. Gyuri continues. "But I must agree with Sunye. It's one thing having the A-List girls verbally assaulting us... but to actually harrass you, Tiffany, is quite unforgivable."

Boram looks at Tiffany seriously. "Do you want me to whip those girls with my beef jerky?" Everyone suddenly bursts into laughter. Boram pouts. "Heeey... I wasn't kidding!"

Tiffany puts her arm around Boram's shoulder, still giggling. "No it's okay. But thanks for the offer. And though it did annoy me at first... it was just water, guys. Plus someone saved me from any other harm they were planning... well sort of saved me I guess."

"Someone saved you?" Jiyoon repeats.

"Who was it?" Soyeon asks.

Tiffany looks down at her feet. "Well... I don't know if you guys will believe this but... that new girl... Sooyoung... She's the one that saved me from Jessica, Seungyeon, and Gayoon."

Her friends gawk at her, their mouths hanging open. "Sooyoung? You mean... 'Bloody Knuckle Sooyoung'? THAT Sooyoung?!" Sunye continues to repeats loudly. A group of students nearby look at Sunye with horrified expressions.

"You shouldn't be saying that name so loud, Sunye," Soyeon frowns.

"My bad... But really Tiffany? Are you sure?"

"I guess so..." Tiffany says slowly. She turns to Jiyoon and Soyeon. "She's also the one who let me use this towel." Tiffany shows her friends the towel Sooyoung left. "The girl was glaring at me as if she was going to kill me so I squeezed my eyes shut. Then I felt something covering my face and it was this towel. Sooyoung was already walking away. I would have followed her but then I still needed to get my essay..."

Gyuri abruptly interrupts her. "Sorry Tiffany but maybe we should continue this at our usual spot at the cafe. Talking about Sooyoung out in the open might cause problems." Everyone nods in agreement but Tiffany notices that Jiyoon's attention was elsewhere.

As the rest of their crew begins to walk away, Tiffany heads over by Jiyoon. "What's the matter?"

"Errr.... nothing. Um you guys can go without me."

"Are you sure?"

Jiyoon puts on her sunglasses. "Yeah. I got something to do." She says goodbye before leaving Tiffany.

Tiffany scratches her head in confusion but shrugs it off before running after her other friends.

--------------------

"YO! GAYOON!"

The slender girl turns to the source of the voice. She frowns upon realizing it was Jiyoon. "What do you want?" Gayoon says, trying to hide the irritation in her voice.

"Did you really pour water all over Tiffany?" Jiyoon asks.

Gayoon smirks. "Oh so you heard huh? Yeah I did. So what?"

"Was that really necessary? She could have catched a cold!"

"She was being a nuisance," Gayoon scoffs. "That girl was getting on Jessica's nerves. I was simply helping the President putting that commoner in her place."

Jiyoon sags her shoulders. "Gayoon..." she says weakly. "This isn't you. You're not the kind of person to do these kinds of things...."

"Shut up! You don't know me at all!" Gayoon retorts. "Leave me alone, Jiyoon." She walks away in a huff.

Behind her sunglasses Jiyoon's eyes were clouded with sadness.

"Of course I know you... We used to be best friends...."

--------------------

At the cafe, the girls get their coffee and tea before sitting at a table. Boram takes out a pile of snacks and throws them on the table. "Here guys. Take anything!"

"Thanks Boram! You're saving us money," Gyuri laughs. Boram smiles.

Sunye faces towards Soyeon. "What do you know about 'Bloody Knuckle Sooyoung'? You pretty much know all the rumors and gossips at our school."

Soyeon takes a sip of her tea before answering. "Well I heard at her previous school she continually punched some guy in the face, over and over again. The students around her at the time claim she was possessed by some demon or whatever. When school officials finally arrived at the scene, they found Sooyoung standing over the guy, blood all over her knuckles, hence her nickname. The guy was unconscious and went to the hospital but his life wasn't in any danger, or so I heard. Sooyoung was expelled due to the incident obviously."

"Now she's at our school," Tiffany puts in. "Do you know why she beat up that guy?"

"No. That's the only unclear thing about her past. There are way to many motives that people are insisting, I don't know what's the truth. Since news of her incident spread to our school, students are afraid to get near her. They say her glare will steal a part of your soul."

"I hear she doesn't have any friends and she's always a loner at lunch," Sunye comments.

Tiffany remembers the towel. "But despite her past.... she can't be that bad. She did save me." An idea sparks in her head and her eyes sparkle with initiative. "I've decided I'm going to find Sooyoung tomorrow at lunch, return her towel, and become her first friend at this school!" she says happily.

The rest of her friends look at her as if she was crazy.

"She's going to kill you."

"She's going to steal your soul and you'll be an empty shell."

"Your blood will be all over her knuckles next."

"Sooyoung is gonna eat you."

Tiffany sighs at the statements. "I'm sure it won't be that bad." She let's out a laugh. "I mean I can't be that bad, trying to be friends with her... right?"

--------------------

The next day at lunch, Tiffany was running all over the place searching for 'Bloody Knuckle Sooyoung' with the towel in hand. After 13 minutes of searching she still could not find her. Tiffany stops to catch her breath. "Oh my God.... It can't be this hard to find her..." she pants. She resumes her search and runs behind the science building. Behind it was a pretty large patch of grass with a big tree in the middle.

Underneath the tree was Sooyoung, eating her lunch quietly.

Tiffany was relieved to find her but now she has to face her. Slowly she approaches Sooyoung. The taller girl pauses eating and quickly moves her eyes to glare at Tiffany. Tiffany flinches but recovers. She holds out the towel. "Um... here you go. Thank you for yesterday."

Sooyoung's expression changes from being cold to complete puzzlement. She stares at Tiffany, then the towel, then back at Tiffany again. Tiffany tilts her head to the side in confusion. "Don't you want your towel back?"

Sooyoung slowly takes the towel from Tiffany's hands. "Thanks," she responds.

Tiffany smiles. "You know, I was really grateful for what you did yesterday. So! I've decided." She sticks out her hand. "Hello there, I'm Tiffany Hwang! Want to be friends?"

Sooyoung silently stares at the bubbly girl's hand.

Inwardly, Tiffany smiles.

This could be the beginning of a beautiful friendship...

"No."

Or not...

"Eh?!" Tiffany looks at her, surprised. "Why not?!"

Sooyoung quickly packs her stuff and stands up. "You're weird. That's why."

"Wow... you sure are blunt," Tiffany laughs awkwardly. Sooyoung begins to walk away. "Hey! Wait a minute!" She grabs the taller girl's arm.

"What is it? I prefer to be alone," Sooyoung sighs.

Tiffany points directly at Sooyoung, a passionate flame in her eyes.

"Sooyoung no matter what we ARE going to be friends!" She winks. "And you are going to LIKE IT!"
