Dear American Theatregoers (at least in audiences that I have been part of thus far),

The way I see it, there's two main rules to the play-viewing experience. They are:

1. SIT THE FUCK DOWN and

2. SHUT THE FUCK UPAddendums to rule two are a) not fiddling with your candy/drink/fried chicken/umbrella/WHATEVER, and b) MAKING SURE YOUR GODDAMN ( Read more... )

IGGY BERGMAN IN DA HOUSE, YO.

Yeah, that one's been boiling up for awhile now, it just burst today. Seriously, if you read about a massacre in a NY theatre involving a crazy chick choking people with candy and bashing them to death with umbrellas, that'll be me.

!

You have got to be shitting me! I've been to the ROH more times than I can count (and I think my mother might have tried to take up residence there once) and, short of one time that some blithering twit brought their baby with them (to the rehearsal showing, mind you, so that's...a bit better...? I doubt they'd have gotten in otherwise), it's always been fantastic and people have been very well behaved and it's been very pleasant. You know, short of paying THROUGH THE NOSE for a class of champagne and some crisps, that is. And yes - GOOD for the couple being asked to leave. I know Wagner's Ring Cycle is, like, ninety four hours long and all, but...it's beggars belief when people are that painfully stupid and INCONSIDERATE. How the hell did they even manage to get the food in there? I've seen security remove those little intermission ice creams from people before. And it's not like they don't have sandwiches and crisps and a whole sodding restaurant there. *shakes head ( ... )
