Title: Adagio
Rating: PG-13 for a rather heated kiss, but fluff as normal. :p
Paring: Girl! 2min
Notes: A sequel was demanded to ‘Staccato,’ and since I aim to please people, I couldn’t say no rofl D: Besides, it’s girl 2min and there can never be enough of that because Minjung is my Girl!SHINee crush. ;~; I kind of… switched view points half way through-ish, so I’m sorry if it suddenly seems to flow awkwardly. I didn’t mean to O_o; As usual, forgive typos < <; I'l fix later if there are any

God she hated tea. She hated the smell; the feel of it on her fingers; the taste; the dirty, earthy texture it left in her mouth if she accidentally got a sip of some. She didn’t even like the knock off, powdered instant stuff that much, and that probably couldn’t even be considered tea. It was like eating tofu instead of meat… except tofu was still protein… and there wasn’t a classification of people that didn’t drink tea. Honestly, Taeyeon had no idea what her brain was rambling on and on about, but it broke down to one solid fact:

Minjung liked tea, so for now, she could at least pretend to.

“Umm…” Taeyeon dropped her school bag by the front door, kicking off her shoes before dashing into the kitchen. Minjung was about three strides behind, but didn’t seem to find any reason to rush herself, stepping casually into the younger girls house and shutting the door behind them. “What flavor do you want unnie?” The long haired female didn’t reply right away, more focused on removing her dress flats than answering the freshman’s inquisition. Besides, she wasn’t done talking yet. “We have green, peach, lemon honey, umm…”

“Do you have that blueberry pomegranate one?”

Taeyeon poked her cute little head out of the kitchen, the spheres of burnt amber blinking curiously at her senior. She did have it, yes, but what shocked her was the fact that Minjung even remembered that that blend had existed in her cabinet. The last time her family had purchased it was seven months ago, give or take a few days, and they had run out that same week. They just went shopping yesterday and restocked their supply. “Ne.” Idly, Taeyeon played with a few strands of shortly cropped hair, winding it so tightly around her finger that the digit was nearly plastered to her scalp. “We just got some more actually.”

“I figured,” The smaller girl blinked again. Minjung grinned playfully, stepping into the kitchen with her best friend. “You smelled like it.” Taeyeon’s cheeks lit up with an adorable shade of pink before the girl backed up against the counter nearest to her sink, spinning in place to rummage through the cabinets above. In her defense, that particular brand of tea was really strong, and she had moved the small box of teabags that morning while in search of salt and pepper for her lunch. Without another word, Minjung let herself into a different cabinet. She’d been over enough to know the kitchen layout, which allowed her to find the steel teapot in under fifteen seconds.

Taeyeon blinked turning back to face the other female, pastel blue tea-filled box in hand. Minjung stepped forward to fill the teapot. She easily could have just stepped beside her friend and pulled the spout to the other side of the sink… but where was the fun in that? Instead, her arms looped around the freshman’s frame, speaking a borderline sultry ‘excuse me~’ into Taeyeon’s ear. Of course, the whole thing was perfectly innocent; she was only filling a pot with water after all. Satisfied with the new contents of the item, Minjung pulled away, smiling sweetly before setting the teapot on the stove.

Completely innocent. Sure. No unnecessarily close proximities that made Taeyeon’s stomach do back flips. No sexual undertones in her voice that left her face hot and body shaken. No slight brushes of exposed leg that made her knees want to give out. Everything was absolutely unintentional, and clearly Taeyeon was just looking too far into things. Maybe pigs would fly today too.

Minjung glanced back over her shoulder at the younger girl. She seemed… frozen almost, unmoving, unless you counted the creeping blush on her face. The older of the two giggled, which was almost a foreign sound from the athlete. Usually she’d smile softly, or laugh so hard and loud that she nearly fell over. Giggling, however, was almost out of character for the tomboy. It almost made her look… delicate… and it only proved to accentuate how beautiful she really was. “You’re cute.” Taeyeon squeaked, blushing darker at the compliment while Minjung simply took the box from her dainty hands. Two bags were removed and dropped into the slowly heating pot, left to brew while they found something to occupy themselves for a few minutes. Well, while Minjung found something. Taeyeon had just recently found out that she could feel her legs again. “… how about those cupcakes?”

“Ah…” those big Bambi eyes blinked a few more times. “Sure unnie.” They were meant to be eaten with the tea, but if Minjung wanted a snack now, Taeyeon wasn’t going to deny her. Then again, there probably wasn’t much the freshman would deny the tall young woman period. The tray was already set in plain view, a dome-shaped lid simply hiding the contents, lest they dry out and become much less appetizing. Taeyeon wasn’t the best cook, but she was wonderful at baking. Everything the girl donated to neighborhood bake sales was completely gone within the first fifteen minutes, and just by glancing at the beautiful desserts, it was easy to see these would be no different.

Obviously chocolate, the dark brown mouthfuls of decadence were covered with a pastel pink frosting - homemade - likely tasting of cherry or some other red fruit. Red sugar sprinkles dusted the top, overall leaving the treat almost too pretty to consume. “I hope they taste okay…” To spare her friend some disgust on the off chance that they didn’t - and because Taeyeon was on a diet that she definitely didn’t need to be on - she pulled the moist cake in half, offering her friend one and keeping the other. As soon as the cake was in Minjung’s hand, Taeyeon bit into her own and the older girl followed suit. Ah, so it was raspberry. Nice touch.

Minjung stared. Taeyeon blinked. “Taeyeonnie, you’re making a mess of yourself.”

“Mm?” the maknae blinked, looking down at her white polo which was quickly collecting crumbs. She smiled sheepishly... and quickly found another pair of hands happy to assist her. Minjung didn’t mother her as often as Gwiboon did, but each time it happened it was welcomed. She didn’t fuss over every misplaced hair, every wrinkle in her clothing or each time her glittery hair band slipped. Minjung was the girl who would grab books when she dropped them, or help her bandage a wound, or pull things off of the top shelf in the library for her. All she did was for Taeyeon’s well being… Even if those hands running along her chest caused her breath to hitch, even if it was simple grooming and beautification… for once.

The younger of the two bit her lower lip, looking up into those deep large eyes and quickly looking away from fear of getting lost in them. Hushed thanks were given, her voice hardly above a whisper. Minjung replied with a slow blink, head tilting and causing those ebony tresses to momentarily obscure her vision. “I’m not done yet. Hold still.” Taeyeon’s eyes shifted back, anxiously watching her unnie’s fingers trail along the soft curve of her face. Her thumb stroked along the corner of her mouth and the long haired girl leaned in a bit closer, eyes squinting. “I think this spot dried.” Taeyeon didn’t know there was absolutely nothing on her face, and in Minjung’s opinion, she didn’t need to know.

Slightly chapped but still wonderfully soft, those plump lips lightly pressed at the corner of her mouth, and the sneaky little lady could feel Taeyeon’s skin heat up beneath her lips. Her face shifted the slightest bit, staring at those precious parted lips that she was sure were drying out from the amount of breath passing over them. “… do you want me to get it?” In the world of text book romance, you weren’t supposed to ask permission for these kinds of things. You just kind of did it. This story was anything but classic however, and Taeyeon was so timid sometimes that Minjung didn’t want to risk scaring her. However, when she saw the subtle nod of her head and felt those pretty fingers rest on her upper arms, Minjung concluded that she’d have to try a bit harder for this scene to crash and burn.

Her lips were like cupcake flavored velvet, sweet and silky against her own, and it was a wonder that she’d been able to wait this long to taste them. Digits went from resting to gripping at the sleeves of her polo, causing the older girl to lean in and apply a bit more pressure. The lingering flavor on her lips was a blissful tease, but she wanted a bit more. Daring to be bold, Minjung’s tongue brushed against the other girl’s lower lip before sucking gently upon it. She was almost positive that this was Taeyeon’s first kiss, and maybe she should have left it at sweet sealed-lip smooches, but the soft curious noises she made were so delicious that she couldn’t help herself. A shy reciprocation was better than none at all, and soon Minjung found her tongue greeted with the others; timid and unsure of whether or not she was ‘doin it right.’

She felt the petite frame quiver against her… which meant it was time to crush dreams and pick up some other time. Her hands stoked those round cheeks, gently pulling their faces apart. Taeyeon’s face had been painfully adorable beforehand, but now with that blush on her face, those large glassy eyes and her lips glittering from shared saliva… she was perfect. Another kiss, this one short and sweet, was given as a parting gift before Minjung pulled away completely. “I need to head home,” All Taeyeon could do was stare, blinking rapidly as her body slumped against the counter, eyes following her friends retreating figure. She slipped on her shoes, looked over her shoulder and smiled. “Thanks for the Tae.”

Intentional play on words or Freudian Slip, Taeyeon couldn’t be sure, and she probably never would be. She heard the door open and close, and listened for a moment as Minjung’s footsteps faded. Her body slowly slid down the base of the counter until she was in a sitting position. Her knees were weak, her face was hot, and overall… she couldn’t wait to see that girl again. Even so, something felt... left out.

The tea kettle whistled.
