For example: A man who realizes this idea of academics as so-so and just wishes to be a simple family man. Many factors come into play mainly involving money.

Really its all on wish outlook you wish to take. You can be knowledgeable at the same time enjoy life as life and not some competitive race to see who finishes first to show off their "trophy".
