If I were to ask you all, what would be your prefered way to preview a hair?

What I'm meaning is, would you like to see all the hair colours on the model's, or would you prefer just a few on the models, then swatches of the rest of the colours?

Just wondering, because I'm starting to take preview pictures now, and I don't want to be overdoing the

I have no preference on how to view hair, except being able to see all sides. I don't mean every single side front and back or an angle works.

Sims? Those I want to see lots of! I like to know more or less what shape their face is for example and just one angle often doesn't do that.

What kind of alien/vampire etc defaults were you looking for? Something Maxis-ish or completely different?

Yes, I never thought of that! I do like to see what kind of face they have as well, because sometimes it can give you quite a fright when you find out they're not the exact same.

I was looking for something different. I love aliens, but hate the maxis skin. I'm like that with the other supernaturals too, so something that's not maxis match would be perfect :) I like the skin that Tel has, that's so pretty! Is that your default alien skin?

It is my alien default. It is part of Enalya's Unholy collection (previews are better at this thread) which is also my Vampire and Zombie defaults. You can get the default versions here. It does come with her Alien eyes defaulted as well (though I don't use them, I use a set a I created myself based on the eyes that came with it. If you want those as well you can get them here).

I don't use them much, but these are my plant and werewolf replacements. (The plant looks AWESOME in game!)Will also give you another option for vampires and zombies. The Alien is interesting as well, just way too human for my tastes. :D

More eyes! I love these (also check out the alien skins linked in the thread they are gorgeous) I have them as contacts. Another that I completely adore. Fen uses "Majorblue", "Offbeat" is used by Celeste Curious. Which reminds me, I also have a multi-polytech mod for even more alien variety (In-game previews of all of the skins from that one complete with a preview of my alien default skin with Maxis eyes. I don't find that I need any more than one preview to show a hair, and a swatch for the rest of the shades does nicely. I usually prefer if the hair is shown from the front at least, but having the other angles of it is a plus.

With sim downloads, I don't really care about their body, I just want to see their face.

I like seeing the hair from the different sides, but I think swatches are the way to go when showing colors. So much easier too.

I don't know if you've seen this community, but it's a very nice organized way of getting clothing/hair defaults. I may or may not be going a little crazy with the defaults myself ;)

Yeah, it seems to be the general thought that as long as the hair is seen clearly, a swatch is sufficient. The only problem I have with it, is that some of the colours are REALLY similar, and I don't think the swatches show them well enough - for my liking anyway. I'm going to put them up in the next few days, and if anyone wants to see them closer I have no problem with doing it the other way :)
