The underlying message of this book (which, to be honest, was probably unintentional on the "author's" part, just poorly thought out) is really a very sinister one - if I've interpreted it correctly, that is. She manages to 'fix' his abusive and controlling tendencies with love? Uhh ...
I picked that book up in the store, found a random page, and started reading a totally random paragraph out loud. I embarrassed my boyfriend immediately.
I had no interest in reading it before and I have even less interest after reading that article! And I'm no prude. I've read a sexy book a time or two. But there's something disturbing about this one and how popular it is. Kinda creeps me out.
Then again some women get off on control. It's a fetish thing. Ever watched the movie Secretary with Maggie Gyllenhaal? But I guess if the point of the book is the women trying to "fix" him, that throws out that possibility.
