So
lisa67 said I should write some slightly longer fics. I have to say I wasn't sure, cos I have the attention span of a goldfish. But I was going to give it a try, and this is what I came up with.
I was listening to this song:
Why's it Feel to Long by Keith Urban and BAM!!! Inspiration flowed. So this is a 5 part story (yes 5!!!, though each part is quite short) But you could probably read each part on it's own.
Title: Why's it Feel so Long (Part 1)
Genre: RPS
Pairing: Jared/Jensen
Rating: PG-13
Word Count: This part: 430 (Altogether: 3153)

destiny393 He’d put off packing his bags for too long and now he was rushing about trying to find his favourite pair of jeans and those sunglasses he loved so much. He always hated leaving, even if it was only for a few days. Jared slumped down on the bed next to his suitcase, he had hunted high and low for those damn glasses, they had to be around here somewhere. He might need those shades when he got back home, he’d almost forgotten how hot it could in Texas after spending most of the year in Vancouver. He turned to the side and began to zip up the suitcase, guess he’ll have to go without the glasses.
As he dragged the zip around the edge, pushing down on the case slightly, forcing it closed, Jared looked over at the clock hanging on the wall. He would have to leave for the airport soon, too soon. Pulling the case off the bed and onto the floor, Jared did one more sweep of the room, desperate to find what he was looking for. But he knew that he didn’t care about the fucking glasses, he didn’t mind leaving them behind. It was Jensen he hated to leave.
Turning towards the footsteps outside the bedroom, Jared looked up to see Jensen leaning against the door frame. He looked just as happy about Jared leaving as Jared felt.
"Looking for these?" Jensen held out the item Jared had been searching for.
"Yeah, where were they?"
"Where they usually are, on the mantlepiece."
"Thanks" Jared stood up, reaching out to take them from Jensen. "Don’t know what I would do without you."
The smile Jensen returned in response was enough to convince Jared to stay, to never leave. But he knew it would only be a few days, it might feel like longer, but he would be back before he knew it. Grabbing the handle of the suitcase, Jared rested his free hand over Jensen’s heart, bending slightly to kiss him tenderly on the lips. Then he brushed passed him and began to make his way down the stairs.
"Come back home soon"
As Jensen turning around to face the path Jared had taken, he was already gone. The front door clicked as it closed, but Jared would have heard his parting words. He would have heard the underlying plead in the words, and the way his voice broke over the word soon. But Jensen knew that Jared wouldn’t have been about to deal with a long goodbye, he knew how much Jared hated goodbyes.
