Hello friends -

well, it's about 6 weeks until my nuptials are coming to pass.  I'm feeling very accomplished where the wedding details are concerned.  where I'm feeling less confident and secure is with the fact that future-hubby and I found out about 3 weeks ago that we're pregnant.  now, when I was just dealing with the idea of being a married ( Read more... )

Wow! Congratulations on both fronts, sweetie! No, 38 is not too old to be a mom - in fact it might just be the best possible time. I had mine at 23 and I was definitely not as mature then as I am now. Of course now that I'm 43 she's out of the house which is nice.

Such wonderful changes are in store for you!

That *is* a lot to absorb! But I wish you much love and happiness in your new roles as wife and mother. Just take everything one step at a time and I'm sure it will all be fine.

*hugs*

As someone who had my son at age 16 (he's 12 now), and who raised him more-or-less on my own, I actually envy you a little bit. I basically grew up along with my son. At this stage in your life, you are probably more aware of who you are, and with the added help of having an extra pair of hands to help bring the little one up, you will do great. You can never be too old to be a mother. It's all in the heart, bb. ♥

You can never be too old to be a mother - hoping that the kid believes that, too! Thank you for sharing your motherly point of view!

Trust me, it's worse when you get "Awww, you're little brother's so cute!" whenever you go somewhere. Besides, it's a kids prerogative to think their parents are ancient walking fossils no matter their age. My mom was 35 and I never thought she was old because she was so active. :D

Age is a state of mind, for sure - that's what I'm telling myself. That, and someone told me last week that they thought I was still in my 20s - way to go, sunscreen!
