Who needs CNN Headline News (or Fox News, for that matter) when I have friends like mine?

...I should elaborate. But trust me, if you don't know what's going on, you're gonna be lost. I make a seemingly innocuous, off-the-cuff remark to my boss about a week ago (due to my rambling to get myself out of a situation that was unrelated to the remark).
