Washington Trip Report - part 28 - going to the zoo

November 16 was my last full day with my relatives in Lacey. One of my cousins has a daughter who is pretty severely physically disabled. He got tickets to the Woodland Park Zoo in Seattle through some organization connected to her needs. We were going to spend the day at the zoo. That's a wonderful carousel. I am so glad that it didn't just get trashed or discarded or totally lost.
I live in Philadelphia; I don't suppose that company is still in business anymore, a hundred years later.

And I was so impressed with the carousel that I forgot to mention how much I like the zoo pictures, especially the penguins in their zoo home.

Their penguin exhibit is really nice. We spent quite a bit of our time there since my younger cousins wanted to watch the penguins.

Amazingly, they're still in business, located in Hatfield. They changed their name to Philadelphia Toboggan Coasters and build cars and other stuff for wooden roller coasters. Their website is pretty interesting. It has a list of their carousels and roller coasters that are still in use and some history of the company.
