My mass-murdering of turkeys weekend.

Thursday 11/18: Got out of school, said goodbye to Grand Theft Auto, and went to my dad's house where he and I departed for Indio, CA where we stayed the night.

Friday 11/19: Basically consisted of driving until we got to Tucson, AZ. There, my dad and I met up with my step-mom Frances at a hotel at downtown. She was there for the same reason as my dad, that being to ride the Tour de Tucson. That's a, now famous, interim bike ride around the city of Tucson, which adds up to 109 miles. Since the ride was the next morning, all 3 of us went to the Bike expo in the exhibition hall. They were in heaven whilst I simply looked for free food. Then we left Frances at the hotel (she was riding with a team so she was staying with them) and then my dad and I left for my grandparents house in Northern Tucson, where we stayed the night.

Saturday 11/20: Since my dad and Frances were riding from about 7am to 2-4pm, I was left with Grandma "Em "

and Grandpa "Bumps".

They were planning to go on a hike, since they're experienced hikers, so I figured I'd join them. Sadly I didn't realize that I would have to wake up at 6am (that being 5am California time). Somehow I woke up and we journeyed halfway up Mt. Lemmon where the hike started. We got to the peak of the hike, and sat down for a snack, when I noticed something crawling on the ground. It was a tarantula!

My first one ever! :O I followed it for awhile till it started getting pissed off.

That was so awesome.

Sunday 11/21: Today we left Tucson and...drove. That's all I remember. Oooo...I do remember stopping at a rest stop and I saw ANOTHER tarantula. I was on a tarantula streak or something. So very awesome. Anyway, we ended up in El Paso, TX, and as we were driving on a freeway (this was at night) my dad pointed to the right and said everything I could see was Juarez, Mexico. Holy crap. There were so many lights. I would say that was the biggest city I had ever seen, but I guess it wouldn't compare with L.A.

Monday 11/22: Went trough Guadalupe Mountains national park first. That was pretty awesome. First time I had been there in 10 years, and I certainly didn't remember it. It was cool cause there were low clouds everywhere.

Then we headed to Carlsbad Caverns national park, which I also hadn't been to in 10 years. I was disappointed that it wasn't bat season, but it was still awesome. I did remember parts of it, but I didn't remember it being so massive. I got dizzy quite a few times just by looking up.
There's my dad and Frances descending into the entrance

I thought this looked cool with that mist sitting in the cave

Just looking out the entrance

A stalagtite and cave pool

We thought this looked like a tree...or something

This was called "Temple to the sun" I believe

Apparently my dad and I were thinking the same thingwhen he dubbed this formation "B-cup"

There's a rock in the bathroom. I almost hit my head on that.

Then we got to the "end" of the caverns and went onto the elevator. Apparently we were 75 floors down. I got dizzy on that too. It was crazy. Then we stayed in Roswell, NM.

Tuesday 11/23: First thing we did was what anyone would do in Roswell...go to the alien museum! It was kinda...gay. There was hardly any hard proof of aliens, but the crop circle stuff was pretty awesome. Sexy even. On an unrelated topic, I discovered Cherry/Vanilla Dr. Pepper. Much to my dismay, it sucked. Way to put my taste buds' hopes up. Bastard soda company. Then we went to White Sands national monument. That was pretty sexy as well.

I was suprised...the sand was white.

I thought it was gonna be a trick and the sand would be pink or something. Stayed in Las Cruces, NM.

Wednesday 11/24: Today we drove to Albuquerque, NM, and I was angry at myself for not bringing Weird Al's album "Running With Scissors" AGAIN. I always wanted to drive into Albuquerque and play Al's song Albuquerque. That would be so awesome. Damnit. Next time. That being the day before Thanksgiving, we decided to get our motel early, and then we headed to the Albuquerque zoo. The zoo was decent, but there were some memorable moments. It was the first time I had seen a Pygmy Slow Loris and Slow Loris moving, and the first time (I think) I had seen a black lemur. One of the exhibits we went up to seemed to have nothing but 4 balls of fluff inside. I thought it was...uh...I don't know what I thought. Then the fluff balls moved and we realized they were Arctic foxes. 4 of them! That was great.
Then we saw a sleepy koala

A cougar over our heads

2 rhinos sparring

A baby gorrila playing in a box

...and we found this amusing. Read the first line and notice the name of the snake.

Notice the color of the snake.

If you don't think that's funny, then you suck.
Anyway, we had a great time there.

Thursday 11/25: First thing we did was go on the world's longest "commercial" tram up Sandia Peak, which hangs over Albuquerque. It was INSANEly long. Notice Albuquerque waaaaay in the background. Considering the tram starts IN the city, you need to realize that that was a long climb.

Not only that, but it was insanely cold at the top. It was 26 degrees with 30mph winds. Therefore the wind chill factor stuff made it about 0 degrees. Haha...I'm glad I brought two sweatshirts.
Here's my dad and stepmom Frances at the top. My dad is the one on the left if you can't tell :/

After that, we went up to Santa Fe, which my dad declares as the "prettiest town in North America". There is certainly some validity to that statement. There was snow everywhere, and tons of awesome architecture. I regret not taking any pictures...I kinda forgot my camera in the car. Then we went to this....mall...thing. I guess it was a mall. It looked so cool. I don't know how to describe it...maybe if I took a picture :\ Haha. Anyway, we walked by a clothes shop with jeans for...guess...$1000. JEANS. A THOUSAND DOLLARS. You know, they wouldn't sellthem for that much unless someone was buying them for that much :| Then we stayed in Albuquerque again.

Friday 11/26: Started home and went through Flagstaff, AZ, and went to Petrified Forest national park.
Here's the painted desert in the park.

This Raven was amusing us.

Stayed in Kingman, AZ.

Saturday 11/27: Came home. Only thing interesting was this in Needles, CA

Oh yeah. Sarah and Eleyah came over to see Jenn too. That was weird. And it made me sad. NOBODY EVER COMES TO SEE ME!!! :'( *wants pity*

Sunday 11/28: Worked on our video for gov since nobody else did while I was gone. Bastards >_> That's pretty much it :\
