This is probably pre-school level for our math geniuses such as Eric Smpte, but I'm posting it anyway cause it's kinda cool ( Read more... )

I do, but I will get busy in about 5 weeks when I start school. But between now and then I have wrapped up my current work and connection with the World Health Initiative - I'll be getting involved again later in the fall when I see what my schedule will be.

But tomorrow I'm taking off for Barcelona to visit a friend and to enjoy 2 1/2 weeks vacation. Yayyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyy!!

You mention school in the fall? You have decided on Harvard for the fall?

Yes, I have. I'm afraid if I don't do it now, I may never get around to it.

Understandable. By the way, I'm considering the possibility of visiting Boston in the fall, probably October or November. (Another of my friends is starting a PhD in Physics at Harvard this year.) If that happens, perhaps we might arrange to meet for coffee one afternoon.

Cheers,

Dude, if you want some real mind-blowing beauty in mathematics, check out Euler's Identity. It links three mathematical constants in a way that they seem like they just couldn't be linked. Learning about Euler's Identity when I was a little kid is what made me certain I wanted to be a mathematician.
