Kyou Kara Maou: Episode 22 - The Man of Fate

Need the episode? Check this post out.

As an excuse to hold hands, Yuuri says that "this is extremely bad for a young person's upbringing."

Yuuri's being such a good father (even though he looks like the fly from that 1958 movie).

However, Greta isn't comfortable holding Yuuri's hands so she holds onto Windpipe No. 1.

Aren't they adorable? However, the guy they're looking for? Yeah, Greta doesn't know what he looks like, even though she insists she saw him. Heh. Children…

Before they can move, they see three boys ganging up on Conrart's lucky lady Number 1 from the previous episode! It would seem she's trying to quit and they won't let her because it'll set a bad example for the other employees.

I find it highly amusing that Yuuri leaves Greta holding onto his windpipe while he goes to save the damsel in distress. Except the lady runs away leaving Yuuri in the lurch. But wait! Yuuri has a back-up plan! And that's to play hide-and-go-seek with his tormentors ♥ I adore how he runs off carrying Greta princess style.

Except Yuuri is still injured and needs to be pulled on a trolley by the very determined Greta. *sniffs* Don't you just love fake father/daughter bonding? Except those nasty men find them and they go running off into the distance only to be pulled behind some garbage! Perhaps Yuuri doesn't have completely bad taste after all. I mean, Murata did come back for him and it looks like this lady didn't completely abandon him either. Then again? Who can resist the cute?

And she feeds them!

Well, tries to feed them. She has to ask for a discount and only two bowls of -uh, spaghetti ramen-esque soup? But Yuuri is nice and pays for Izula's bowl in return for saving him.

Don't you just want to molest the boy for being such an idealistic gentleman?

As for why Izula was being hounded by those goons? Well, she was trying to get out of the scam racquet she had been forced to participate in. "Gambling is supposed to be intense with everything on the line! That's the thrill I crave, not this."

Did anyone else find it hilarious that Yuuri tells Izula she's still young and should go home and find more honest work? I mean, Yuuri's still a kid himself and quite often tries to get out of his work. Methinks this is a case of "Do as I say, not as I do?"

But, unfortunately, Izula can't go home. But before she can go into more detail or divulge just why she had to take a look at Greta's shoulder, we are once again interrupted.

Flash to Conrart and KJ! Looks like Conrart snuck out of the house to give Keiji's master severance pay for leaving the army. Keiji's master immediately tells Keiji he'll buy a new outfit, something soft with ruffles. Keiji engulfs XXX's head in appreciation.

So tasty!

Head still engulfed, he warns Conrart that a trouble maker has recently appeared who attacks anyone who seems skilled.

And what light through yonder window breaks?

Nothing less than a stalker intent on viewing Wolfram in bed!

The lovely bishounen is awoken with dulcet tones of urgency love and they go running off into the night.

But their love is fickle for they split up and go their separate ways before they can elope.

*tear*

But wait! On the horizon lies a new love for Wolfram! See him gaze in awe at his new found love.

But this relationship is even shorter lived than the previous one. Unless you count gratuitous sword fighting as a basis for a good relationship. Which apparently our masked duelist does considering the sword foreplay wasn't good enough for him. Poor Wolfram

And what do you know…Wolfram fans the flames of hurt and despair and tries to blow our lovely duelist to smithereens! But Wolfram isn't so lucky and it dissipates almost immediately. These things never work in the human world unless you're Yuuri.

Meanwhile, in some distant town, a bunch of monks are mumbling.

Is Gunter trying to join the monastery?

But wait, "His Majesty is accompanied by the girl who failed to assassinate him!" And they're at a 'male only club.' So what in the world is Gunter up to? And more importantly, why is Dakaskos the only one who is bald?

And then the word's of heaven descend upon our ears. Let me repeat them so you may also be enlightened as I have been….

"His Majesty spoke unto me.

'My kingdom will not be complete without you.
Gunter, will you make history with me…
Never to lave my side, as long as you shall live?'

Unable to stem my tears of deep emotion…
I placed a kiss upon His Majesty's royal foot.

'Ah, everything I am or shall have is yours, Your Majesty.'

Cut back to more important things, like the fact Yuuri has been captured!

And there is no end of frightful things around him. Apparently Louie Vitton Louis Vuillon collects them.

Uh, and no, that's one is still alive Yuuri. And horribly frightened of you! You really shouldn't have tried to heal her. You ARE a demon after all. Everyone knows demons are scary.

We also learn that Izula and Nina are from Svelera and were employed at an esoteric stone mine (does this ring a bell to anyone? *hinthintnudgenudge*) but the stones suddenly ran out and rain came back and just wouldn’t stop. But it was too late.

"All that is left in Svelera is water and arrogant soldiers."

But wait! Greta's foster parents are from Svelera?

Flash to Wolfram and Conrart! They appear to have rehitched. Will the relationship last this time?

Who knows, but it would seem that the heavens are bestowing their blessings!

Oh, wait. That's just Heathcrife's head shining again. Anyways, Greta's still telling her story! Apparently her foster parents hated her. She was always alone in the huge castle nd would only say bad things about the demon tribe so she thought if she killed the king then her foster parents might praise her. But she didn't count on Yuuri being so nice.

*melts*

And what's this! Yuuri claims Greta as his 'Love Child!?' But Izula seems positive that Greta's real mother would be very happy that she has found such a wonderful father. *melts*

Ahem, anyways, I'm getting ahead of myself. What really happens is Nina screams and the guard comes running in! Greta topples the guardsmen and the great panda shakes with a fearsome roar! But it doesn't topple. However, Izula is resourceful and smacks him over the head!

I think that octopus head didn't know what he was getting into when he answered the 'Want Ad' for extras…

(Read left to right): Yuuri and Greta escape. Yuuri and Greta come to a halt. See Yuuri and Greta poise for the camera. See them get the shock of their lives!

Wolfram and Conrart are -*cue fanfare*- HERE TO SAVE THE DAY!

Heathcrife seems to want to have a discussion with the villain behind the scams, Louie Vitton. I mean Loius Vuillon. Apparently, he took over the rights to the Western District. And wait, Heathcrife is the owner of the Southern District?

*whistles in admiration*

And here's the man himself and his highly collectible lobster? He naturally thinks Yuuri and Co. are gathered together because they were scammed, but Wolfram throws caution to the winds and attacks the object of his Love disdain!

Conrart steps in to save Wolfram's honor (and not at all because he's jealous) and cuts off the duelist's mask!

He shall forever be remembered…as the man who lost his grip on his sword. Er, I mean Hube. Er, Lord Griesela Gegenhuber (no wonder the man goes by a nickname…) And Greta knows him? What?

See! Everyone's shocked!

And the mystery shall continue to unfold in the next episode hosted by neocloud9. Also, while my screencaps don't portray it, this episode was all about the EYES and the FEET. I have so many caps where these two things are the ONLY thing in the cap.

*melts at all the pretty, expressive eyes*
