Holy Sword and Demon Sword (Part 1)
THIS IS HOW IT’S GOIN’ DOWN »
WE START OUT IN A DARK PLACE.
It is very dark. Very ominous. There are lots of rocks and cliffs and dark shadows. Oh my, and said dark shadows are taking corporeal form of sort.
“The time has come,” the cloaked man said,
“to talk of many things!
Of shoes - and ships - and sealing wax
of cabbages - and kings!
And why the sea is boiling hot!
And whether pigs have wings!”
The person kinda looks like Conrad. And then he is cloaked.
Random warrior drops sword, which is then encased with shadow.
Dark person grabs the guys face. There is screaming and the person is seemingly absorbed into the shadow’s power. Ohoho this is intense.
And then the guy stands up and is clearly being possessed/controlled/not as planned. We get Yuuri and Conrad fighting. Yuuri fails. Everyone watches and encourage him and Conrad like… has to do nothing to beat Yuuri. It’s rather hilarious. Poor Yuuri. He tries so hard.
AND THEN MORGIF SEES THE MAIDS AND DRAGS YUURI AWAY TO GO HIT ON THEM.
Murata comments that Morgif’s face isn’t the only thing to have changed, his personality is has as well. He also notes that the stone on Morgif’s forehead, which is the source of his power, is gone. It only took you, what? 20 some episodes to notice this, Murata? WHY CAN NO ONE IN THIS SERIES REMEMBER ANYTHING THAT HAPPENED TWENTY EPISODES AGO I ASK YOU?
Hey, wait. When was it disclosed that The Great One’s name is Shinou? Weren’t they still calling him the Great One/Original King like two episodes ago?
Anyway. They talk about cows and how Morgif was badass when Shinou wielded it and Yuuri recalls the one time they got a glimpse at Morgif’s power.
This is all not subtle foreshadowing for the next two episodes, by the way.
Enter Günter for studying lessons. He is not pleased. Yuuri doesn’t love him. 8(
Yuuri hides behind Conrad and is all, “Well. I missed you. But it’s noisy now. Baaaaw.”
And then he agrees to study. Greta encourages him! Conrad comments that His Majesty’s guardian can rest now and he looks off to the side and lo and behold, it’s Yozak. Yozak must be a ninja or something.
cut scene.
Now we have a maid leaving tea for Conrad, Yozak, and the bizarre rubber duck. Conrad and Yozak bond. And talk about plot points.
Clearly the bonding is more important.
AWWWW GWENDAL IS WORRIED ABOUT CONRAD. BROTHERLY MOMENTS FOR WIN.
Flashback to a discussion between Yozak and Gwendal about Conrad and boxes and there may or may not be traces of a plot here.
Back to the present. More bonding. Or talk of plot. Something.
Flashbacks to Lüttenburg. Conrad looks so fine with long hair, unf. *A*
Dramatic stare. Intense conversation.
Conrad mentions Yuuri which means cut scene to Yuuri. Yuuri sneezes. Günter runs to find a doctor. Drama.
Wolfram is reading to Greta. Daaaw.
Back to Conrad and Yozak.
More talk of boxes and plot and the Mirror at the Bottom of the Sea. Flashback to the lake episode with Ulrike’s short relative and her ominous tale of love, misery, a- oh no wait wrong story.
Back to tea tiem.
Yozak tells Conrad of a thief in human country stealing swords.
Stealing swords is a popular plot point in this show, I see.
AND OH LOOK THERE IS A BIZARLY CLAD PERSON WHO LOOKS DRAMATIC AND UNNATURALLY LIKE ALFORD.
OH SHI-
Yuuri’s all, “NO BITCH ALFORD IS GOOD!”
Flashback to last time we saw Alford. There are lots of flashbacks in this episode. Hmmm. I think only half of this episode actually has new content.
Murata comments that Yuuri’s weird, ladada, more references to past episodes and holy swords and plot.
Conrad says he’ll go find Alford. Yuuri says he’ll go too and Yozak and everyone are all, “8) Our brave Maou is growing up!”
Günter goes to Gwendal in distress because Yuuri is gone again. Günter has fantasies about locking Yuuri up.
Greta enters the scene. AWWW LOOK AT GWENDAL’S FACE HERE HE’S ALL, “My cute niece is cute!”
Greta tells them where Yuuri went. Gwendal is not pleased. Neither is Günter. The clearly took this the wrong way. Or at least Günter did. Oh Günter.
The group is traveling. Traveling, traveling, Conrad tells them not to worry about Günter. You people are so insensitive.
Morgif is distressed. Oh noes.
Yuuri wonders if Morgif feels a rivalry towards the holy sword.
Murata comments on how they are opposites.
This is statement is left as a cliffhanger and thusly we see a cliff and a burning/destroyed/wtfbbq happened thar village below and they fear it was Alford. Yuuri’s all, “NO! D:”
But then they go into the town and the people seem to believe that it was Alford, or a man looking a lot like him.
Dramatic night scene. Dramatic person appears and has a face-off with a bunch of random people just kinda. Standing there. DON’T YOU ALL HAVE BED TIMES? SHEESH.
Dramatic sword draw. Scream of rage. Dark shadows bounding forth from the sword! DRAMA DRAMA AND oh it’s a flashback. Back to the present.
More gathering of information.
Drama. Yuuri looks really bizarre.
Back to horseback riding and Conrad is explaining how to make a holy sword. He also talks about Gilbert, Alford’s father and the things he learned from him. OHOHO WHAT DID YOU LEARN CONLADDO EH? EH?
Okay I’ll stop now.
Murata is dramatic. This makes everyone else dramatic. Except Wolfram and Yuuri who are just like, “let’s track the bitch down and make him explain. LUCY~ YOU GOT SOME ‘SPLAIN’ TO DO!”
Time leap to a few hours later in the dead of night. Our merry band of travelers are waiting for Alford. Yuuri doubts, Wolfram reassures. Murata and Yozak plot. Conrad is… all by himself. …
DRAMATIC MUSIC AND THE CLOACKED PERSON ENTERS.
YUURI RUNS IN TO CONFRONT HIM.
WOLFRAM AND CONRAD RUN AHEAD TO PROTECT HIM AND YOZAK HAS MAD FIRE THROWING SKILLS.
The cloacked person glows. Murata is like, “OHSHI- NOT AS PLANNED.”
What energy is this?
Murata yells at them to back the fuck up on off this dude.
The smartly do not listen.
THE PERSON RAISES THE SWORD AND CONRAD YELLS AT WOLFRAM AND WOLFRAM GRABS YUURI AND THEY DIVE FOR COVER.
THE HOLY SWORD ATTACKS.
CONRAD AND YOZAK TRY AND ATTACK.
YUURI WAS ABOUT TO GET ATTACKED WHEN HE IS THROWN ASIDE.
BY ALFORD.
BECAUSE IT WASN’T OBVIOUS THAT THE GUY WITH THE COMPLETELY DIFFERENT FACE STRUCTURE WAS NOT ALFORD.
YOU ALL AMAZE ME.
Dark magic that looks like something straight out of Yuugiou happens.
Drama.
