The episode starts out at the castle in Big Shimaron. There is a
strange intruder that somehow manages to make the guards freeze as he passes by them.
Belal is not happy. It seems as though more countries are making alliances with Shin Makoku. He's just getting around to curing the Mazoku when the intruder finally makes his way into the chamber. He calls out for his servants, who are all frozen, and then soon his own eyes glaze over and he quickly joins them.
After the title screen, the scene switches to Shinou's temple, where Murata is staring at the boxes. Ulrike asks if everything is alright, and he just smiles and shrugs it off.
Now we're back outside the Blood Pledge Castle, where Greta is picking flowers with the maids and Yuuri is practicing to not look like a dork ride his horse while smiling and waving at the same time.
Conrad is helping him on Gunter's request, and Wolfram is... riding along side and bluntly explaining why he agrees with Gunter. ^^;; Apparently they're getting ready for a banquet that night in honor of the nations who are now their allies. Representatives from all those nations would be there.
Yuuri smiles, thinking of Flurin (Flynn?) and their past encounters. Wolfram is not pleased by this.
"Who were you thinking about when you already have me?" (Insecure much there, Wolf?)
Before Yuuri can be knocked off the horse or strangled to death, they are
interrupted by Shiny Head
Hristocryuff and his daughter Beatrice, who came to play.
Greta shyly approaches her, and after Yuuri makes the introductions, she offers the flowers that had been picked.
The maids offer them sweets, and they quickly run off together. Hristocryuff also leaves to go talk to Gwendal. Yuuri wants to take a break, but as Conrad starts to help him down from his horse, a mysterious pain of some sort causes him to let go, Yuuri crashing to the ground on his bum. Wolfram quickly runs to his side, scolding Conrad, who
explains that he's alright after making sure that Yuuri's okay.
Next we head to Gwendal's office, where they are discussing Big Shimaron. Yozak enters, making a comment about how Belal has many haters and many soldiers deserting his army. Gwendal's not looking so good either.
He insists that his eyes are just tired, and it's nothing to worry about, but you can tell that something is bothering him.
Back at the temple again, we see Conrad following Ulrike, looking rather determined about something. Then we switch to Wolfram, who is
petting his horse. Suddenly his eyes change and he freezes, unmoving as the horse walks away from him.
Back to Yuuri, who is... um.
Yeah. He's greeting people in the formal ways of their respectful countries, which Gunter is explaining to him
with a giant book. Yuuri is about to die of boredom when he spots a certain pair of cute little girls walk by the throne room. While Gunter's distracted, he sneaks off after them. (I love how he shushes the guards as he walks by to make sure they don't say anything. XD )
They seem to be hiding something under a sheet. When Yuuri asks what they're doing, Greta says that it's a secret and they run off.
Yuuri pouts, thinking that Greta is starting to grow up away from her parent and become rebellious. But then his attention is captured by the window where Wolfram is outside walking somewhere.
Back to the temple, where it's now Conrad's turn to
stare at the boxes. They must be rather interesting to look at. ^^;; But anyways, he asks Shinou why he was saved and given back his arm. Gwendal soon enters, looking rather grim.
Wolfram is
still walking. Yuuri runs to catch up to him, who doesn't respond to his calls.
Conrad and Gwendal converse, admitting that they came to check on the boxes. Gwendal touches his head close to his eyes, and Conrad has another pain in his arm. Murata calls out to them.
Finally Yuuri's words seem to get through, and Wolfram stops to look at him,
obviously confused. It seems that he was headed for the temple as well, and they
stare up at it. Murata lightly scolds them, saying that someone with a key shouldn't be so close to the boxes without a good reason. Gwendal asks if one of the boxes used a left eye as a key. Outside, Yuuri and Wolfram start to walk back without entering, but Wolfram is obviously troubled. A mysterious man in a carriage is seen as well.
Night finally arrives
at the castle, which means it's party time! There are many people, and the maids are busy while soldiers guard the perimeter. Yozak perches himself up on a roof to keep watch.
Yuuri makes a friendly greeting, which is followed by complaining to himself about having to wear Morgif and this outfit again.
Wolfram asks the maids if they've seen his mother, to which the answer is that she's possibly with a foreign gentleman. Well, you did ask for it, Wolf. There's a cute scene with Conrad and Yuuri, the former of which proves that his arm is alright now and Yuuri complains of Greta leaving him again. Lady Flurin interrupts, gaining a big smile from Yuuri.
At the temple,
Ulrike and Murata are discussing how the seal on the boxes has weakened. Ulrike thinks there's nothing they can do with it being Shinou's orders, while Murata comments on how maybe they shouldn't be relying on him so much.
Back at the party,
Conrad is troubled when he spots that same mystery man, who disappears again the next minute.
We're taken to where Yuuri and Flurin are out on the patio talking, and Wolfram is sulking standing guard over his fiance.
They talk about how Caloria is almost back to normal, and how they remember Yuuri's words from before about humans and Mazoku living together one day in peace.
"At the very least, I... Caloria will follow you and Shin Makoku wherever you go."
"But... rather than following, it'd be nice if everyone could walk together as equals. In a straight line, holding hands and stuff."
...I'm honestly surprised that Wolfram hasn't tried to kill the both of them yet. Eh heh.
The moment is interrupted by Cheri, who has apparently lost her latest fling somewhere. And then suddenly she giggles, apologizing for probably interrupting "something important".
Yuuri is his
usual clueless self. But Flurin's look matches equally, which is rather cute. Cheri says that they look good together before leaving.
"MOTHER! How dare you say that in front of me, his fiance?!"
Wolfram's rant is interrupted by a pair
we haven't seen in a while. They call him over. Wolfram gives a
very cute "Me?" face.
Wolfram drags Yuuri away from the party and down the hallway, ignoring his protests.
From there, he is brought to be shown the absolute most cutest cake to have ever existed.
He looks shocked while Wolfram just looks smug.
Now where could this have came from?
Surprise! Greta decided to make today Shin Makoku's Father's Day, since they did not celebrate that tradition. They point out all the little figurines on the cake while Yuuri wibbles in tears.
Back at the party,
Conrad asks Sangria if she's seen Yuuri. She tells him that he left with Wolfram some time ago.
He looks worried about this.
(Yes, I just wanted to post more of the adorable cake. I admit it.) Yuuri looks quite happy, and they all get ready to eat it.
Suddenly the room shakes with a loud noise. It appears that something is on fire outside the castle.
Yozak runs up and explains that a shop exploded, but the cause is still unknown. They discuss what to do next.
Gwendal orders Gunter to take care of the guests, while Conrad plans to go get Yuuri. But it seems that Cheri has already taken charge, leading guests away and telling them not to panic. (See? She can still be a good Maou!)
Yuuri, Wolfram, and the girls are looking out at the fire from the window.
Wolfram suggests that they should go back, but as they turn around, they
find themselves trapped. It seems the mystery guy and his men are after them.
Wolfram quickly slices them all down with his sword, but they all stand right back up again. He's not pleased with this.
"Yuuri! Take the kids and run!"
He's very reluctant to leave Wolfram alone to fight against them, but Wolfram is insistent.
However, before they get the chance, Wolfram is knocked out with what I assume is some form of houjutsu.
They grab his unconscious body and kidnap him out the window. Yuuri can only look on in distraught as they disappear up over the castle walls from sight.
The cake is ruined. HOW DARE THEY DESTROY THE CAKE!
By the time Conrad gets there, Greta and Beatrice are alone, and they tell him that Wolfram is gone...
Yuuri has jumped on his horse, riding after them as fast as he can manage.
End of Episode.
This one was full of extremes, from absolute cuteness to a very evil cliffhanger. I loved Yuuri's interactions with just about everyone, especially the balcony scene and how protective he became when their family bonding moment was interrupted.
Conrad and Gwendal's behaviors were definitely odd, and we're given hints that maybe Gwendal is a key as well. The other thing that truly worries me is Wolfram's earlier scene of zoning out. That's definitely not normal Wolfram behavior, and may lead to troubles later on. And then we're given the usual hints of Murata knowing everything and refusing to share it with the rest of us. Poo on him.
Sorry this came out so late in the day, but seeing as it was my last hosted episode, I wanted to make it nice. Hope you enjoyed!
