Kyou Kara Maou Episode 58: The King of Chaos
For once, one of my episodes does not start out with a night time scene and a full moon! But never fear, the full moon is showcased elsewhere XD Instead, we shall do recaps of the previous episode.
It would seem that Wolfram was kidnapped and Yuuri went along for the ride. The carriage toppled, allowing Wolfram and Yuuri to escape only to be confronted with Adelbert and carnage. It would seem Adelbert saved Yuuri against his will.
Never change, Adelbert. ♥ Never change.
Meanwhile, a village (Adelbert's village) is being overrun by scary wolf apparitions.
Something tells me this is a good time to skip to the opening credits. I also believe that's the end to the recap scenes from the previous episode. But I could be wrong.
Now that we've got the title page out of the way, the village seems to be cleaning up after the battle and
two men don’t seem to thrilled to be lugging a bunch of rocks around.
But Keenan cows them into submission with an evil eye.
Outside the emergency hospital wing, Yuuri takes a sip of…something, mostly likely water although one could hope that it's spiked :D Ahem. Yuuri is nice however and passes his cup over to the 'unscrupulous houjutsu user' for her to drink.
Ah, l'amour…
But Wolfram has other plans! There's no way he'd allow an indirect kiss. (by the way, I love how Wolfram looks in that uniform of his! *glomps*) Before things can turn ugly (assuming), Conrart arrives on the scene! Along with a passel of other people.
Whew. *wipes brow* It's a good thing Yozak was there to catch him! It would seem that Yuuri used up to much energy having adrenaline filled after battle smex with Wolfram going all Maou on the wolf apparitions asses (I'm guessing).
I wonder where Murata managed to get his tickets for his 'special seats' to watch the 'flashy fireworks.' I never knew Wolfram had it in him! ;p
Ah. Look at that smile! Conrart's all glad that Wolfram's okay.
But it looks like Wolfram doesn't like the concern (even though he secretly does. *pinches Wolfram's cheek*).
Moving on, Yuuri and Co (plus Keenan and Adelbert) have a conference around
single, lonely lantern. Adelbert recognizes the monsters and knows they came from 'the Big Shimaron/Cimaron provincial castle."
Murata seems to be mightly interested in 'this strategist of Belal's.' He even says so! "If the one who kidnapped Sir von Bielefeld was that military strategist…"
WHAM!
Yuuri lays down the smackdown! He wants to go see Belal ^___^
"Way to go, Your Majesty. Are we declaring war on Big Shimaron?"
"No!" I just want to talk to him."
Wolfram: "Why don't you ever learn, Yuri?"
Yuuri: "I'm saying this because I have learned.
*cue memories of Hristo Cruyf-san, Flurin, Leila, and everyone allied to Shin Makoku even the kiddies*
It would seem that even though there were those in the above list who hated the mazoku, they were still able to reach an understanding. Therefore, Yuuri wants to convince Belal to leave them in peace. Ah, Yuuri. You're such an idealist XD
After a period of silence, Murata speaks up. "As a matter of fact, we might actually want to get acquainted with Big Shimaron's strategist." He wants the strategist to teach Murata how to use majutsu in human territory and tame the 'wild beasts' XD
Yozak seems quite willing to be tamed Yozak suggests they just force the strategist to tell Murata his secrets.
Murata: Well, that's all fine and dandy, but what if the Maou comes out and pronounces "Judgement" before Belal tells us anything?
Yuuri agrees. The Maou-mode is "surprisingly unreliable." I'm so glad Yuuri knows his short comings!
-------Later that Night--------
Conrart stands in a clearing looking at the full moon (does the moon ever wax or wane? Seriously?) He clutches his arm and grunts in pain as the wind whistles forlornly past him.
Murata breaks the silence. "You have a bad habit of keeping everything to yourself."
Conrart smiles and seems to relax just a tad. "I can say the same about you, Your Highness."
Murata smiles and closes his eyes. "We have Shibuya."
It's so simple, really, but it states volumes. I'm so glad they each know of the other's unrequited love for Yuuri. It makes it so much easier to do substitution smex, don't you think?.
"From now on, no matter what darkness lies in wait, we have a sun called Shibuya to light our way."
And why yes, yes Murata IS the other vial back when Conrart was entrusted with Julia's soul! Just as Conrart told Yuuri to be the sun, Jose told Murata to be the moon. I wonder how Murata knew about it though. *ponders*
Ah, look at the pretty moon! I told you we couldn't escape it XD
-------The next day at Belal's Provincial Castle-------
Ominous clouds ring the castle as Yuuri approaches the castle gates, unnerved by the lack of guards. Huddled close together, they enter, looking for any sign of life. A lone woman seems to be sitting at a fountain, and Yuuri rushes towards her in relief, glad there's someone in the place.
Moments before meeting his inevitable doom, Yosak jumps in with a knee to the stomach! The
woman is a doll, and a rather persistent one too. Running for their lives, they take shelter inside the castle corridors.
As they debate Yuuri's naivete, music begins to play, calling Yuuri forward as his ceremonial march sounds forth.
Opening the French doors, Yuuri sees a vision in blue, his mother. (I actually thought it was a Yuuri doll dressed up in a dress. What did you guys think?)
Their reunion is short-lived, however, considering she explodes moments later. Thankfully,
Conrart was there to save Yuuri as confetti falls from the sky.
Murata seems to know who's behind it, making mention of 'the only one who can pull sick jokes like this…' I don’t think it's a pleasant thought since sweat is dripping down Murata's cheek. *licks it off*
Before Murata could finish his thought, Adlebert, Yosak, and Kennan take on the doll masses, giving the rest a chance to move on into the next corridor. Don't you just adore their noble sacrifice?
At last we come face to face with Belal, but something doesn't seem quite right.
As Yuuri confronts him, Belal groans and starts laughing in an empty voice. Murata calls out the strategist.
*shivers* Doesn't he look positively, prime evil? The music at least is ominous and Belal topples to the ground. Not wasting any time, Yuuri calls for the freedom of the dolls and declares his desire for peace.
Belal speaks. "Then let's use some different people."
As
Conrart faces off against Yosak,
Wolfram against Keenan, Adelbert advances on Yuuri and Murata. Murata takes the moment to do a sneak attack on the strategist, but a barrier protects him, forcing Murata onto his back.
As Yuuri faces Adelbert, he stops and smiles, light shining around him in a gentle glow. The light grows stronger, engulfing everything and taking the darkness from Adelbert, Yosak and Keenan. Belal's strategist crumbles to the ground,
his clothes an empty shell.
Murata declares that the four boxes must be found. The presence he felt from the strategist was one he felt a long, long time ago when he was known as the Great Sage.
As they leave the castle behind them,
Belal regains his feet and creeps out onto the veranda to watch them ride off into the sunset. He IS the King of Chaos.
Dark clouds continue to circle above his castle ominously.
While Belal is off laughing his evil laughter, Adelbert declares that if they share the same goal, he will fight with Yuuri, but only if. Murata declares they shall go see Ulrike.
Wolfram's not to happy though. It would appear Gunter is determined to walk arm in arm with Wolfram for fear that the younger man will disappear again. Ulrike, however, doesn't seem happy to see Yuuri and Wolfram are safely returned home.
Shinou has spoken to her, the last box is on Earth.
The End.
Stay tuned for tomorrow's summary by
sagemuraken!
In the meantime, I'm going to catch up on my sleep. Sorry for taking so long to get this episode up. I honestly thought today was Wednesday, not Thursday. I blame work for kicking my ass. At least it's not as bad as last week. Last week I thought Tuesday was Friday and I was convinced Friday was SUNDAY. It was not pleasant going to work that day XD
Miscellaneous: What did you think of Yuuri's instinctive use of magic without going into 'Maou-mode?' I think it's a sign of maturity and Yuuri's growth as the Maou. The closer he gets to actually being the Maou in body and in spirit, the less I think Maou!Yuuri takes over, leaving Yuuri in control of his own abilities.
What say you? (remember to hide spoilers if you mention any).
