Good news, everyone! I've finally figured out why I've never really taken to Catwoman's current costume:

Lots of pictures, nerd-rage )

I agree with pretty much everything you've written. Since my comic-reading habits are highly erratic, my first exposure to Catwoman's unzipped look was MK vs. DC, and I thought it was simply THEIR dumb idea. Sexuality IS a part of her character, for sure, but she shouldn't flaunt it so much as wield it like any other weapon in her arsenal.

Not sure if that made sense, but whatever.

Also, Harley's outfit in that second still is pretty embarassing in its own way. Arkham Asylum was the most fun I had with my PS3 last year, and I'd buy Arkham City even if it involved Halle Berry, but those are some regrettable decisions.

Exactly.

I had--and scrapped--a comment about Harley's outfit since I realized that probably needed its own bitch session.

Patrick's more upset by the fact that she's got her goggles, but she's not using them. WHAT IS THIS, AN ANIMU?

Personally, Harley's outfit pisses me off more, but I suppose after the first AA I should have gotten more used to them fucking around with it.

She'll do that in the comics. I think it's kind of stupid, but I think it's been a pretty regular habit since she got the costume.

I solved the mystery of why her top's unzipped though:
