Jrock and Family Guy
This silly idea came as a random dinner coversation with my mom. If you don't watch Family Guy, you probably won't get this.
My mom and dad are both fans of Jrock (mom likes Aisan Kung-Fu Generation and PLC, dad likes Kagrra) and fans of Family Guy. A few nights ago we were talking about music and tv during a Teppanyaki grill visit (yes, this is a REAL conversation I had with them):
me: and did you see the episode of Family Guy where they put that medicince collar on Quagmire's groin?
mom: How could I forget? You were howling like a hyena when that came on.
dad: Just goes to show you how sick a guy like Seth McFarlane can be. I liked To live and die in Dixie myself.
mom: You always like anything that makes fun of where I come from
me: Hmmm, I wonder if Jrockers could pull off being the cast of Family Guy?
dad: It's a thought.
mom: But no one's fat enough to be Peter.
me: They don't have to be fat. Just popular and easy to make dumber than dirt at times.
mom: Like Miyavi?
me: Nah, Miyavi's too easy. He'd be better off as Quagmire.
dad: How about Mana as Lois?
mom: I always thought Mana would be better as Trisha Takanawa since she shows almost no expression.
me: Kyo would be awesome as Stewie. No scratch that. I think Yomi would be a good Stewie
mom: Why not Kyo?
me: Well, sure no one's eviler than Kyo at being Stewie, but that makes him TOO evil. He'd be perfect as playing the evil monkey in the closet.
dad: But who would be Chris?
mom: Either Yura or Bou because they're both blonde, creative, and soft enough to be naive.
me: Maybe not Yura, but Seek would be good as Chris too
mom: Maybe Gackt could be Peter
dad: He IS easy to make fun of, so sure.
me: *inwardly thinking* I have taught them well. My Jrock-brainwashing worked!
So after this talk, I've been trying to come up with a Jrock castlist for Family Guy. Here's what I have so far:
Peter=Gackt or S@TT-ON (drummer for NOIZ)
Lois=Mana (Moi dix Mois) or Shinya (Dir en Grey)
Meg=
Chris=Seek (PLC) or Bou (An Cafe)
Brian=J (ex LUNA SEA) or Ken (L'arc en Ciel)
Stewie=Yomi (Nightmare)
Quagmire=Miyavi
Joe=Kaoru (Dir en Grey)
Bonnie=Toshiya (Dir en Grey) How can you NOT picture Toshiya pregnant?
Cleveland=
Tom Tucker=Hyde (L'arc en Ciel)
Diane Simmons=Aya (PLC)
Trisha Takanawa=Mana (Moi dix Mois)
evil monkey in Chris's closet=Kyo (Dir en Grey)
This is all I could think of, what do you think? The one's left blank, I have NO idea for them. If you watch Family Guy, please help me out with some ideas for casting!
