Well, if it counts for anything, I think you should take some time off and re-assess. I am still in that process, but, well, my balls do hang free. Chin up, girly, you are better than worrying about what ANY professor thinks, even if it is Noam Chomsky or Stephen Malkmus. <3s

hopefully soon it will all work out. i think you should take a semester off, maybe the fall, just spend time working and figuring out where you belong, cause it's not too long till you graduate! and you should graduate having done what you really believe in.
