I would like both candidates to issue a joint statement and say that the personal attacks by their campaigns are wrong, and renounce them. I'd like to see an apology to the American people for the tone of the campaign, and then say that they wants to make these final few weeks about the real issues like the economy and where they differ. Can you point to actual personal attacks by Obama? From pretty much everything I've seen, the 'personal' attacks cited by the media come down to him saying, in essence, 'John McCain is wildly out of order in his negative campaigning.' People are jumping on Obama for questioning the integrity of his opponent based on recent campaign actions and statements? Uh... That's not a personal attack.

Please educate me.

You could use the Keating Five stuff as a personal attack from the Obama camp- tepid, but McCain was acquitted and has been very honest about his involvement.

They can't -- look what happened to Kerry when he tried to take the high road in regard to the Swift Boat stuff.

That, right there, was the nail in the 'high road' coffin.

Hell, I was shocked when McCain corrected someone at a rally calling Obama an Arab....of course the crowd booed, but whatever.

it will never happen- personal attacks have been too much of politics since the dawn of time- they are just more upfront about them now. hell remember the Kennedy wanted for Treason poster?
