Hello!

Someone finally asked specifically enough for me to get-on-it-already and talk about Japan. So I spent the last several days slowly uploading photos from my trip to Japan in late March/early April.

Argh, these pics make me want to go to Japan so badly now! My hubby and I are wanting to make a trip there someday....When Cass is older of course ^_^ Beautiful pictures! It looks like you guys had an awesome time.

Study up on your Japanese! :D A surprising number of people in Japan spoke enough English to help me out (even when I wasn't with Joey and Vikki, who spoke decent Japanese themselves) - but I know things would have been a lot smoother if I spoke more than a dozen or so words of Japanese. :)

Also - make sure at least one of you two is good at reading maps! #_# Not that it was horrific getting around, but with the language barrier it is more difficult if you're not good at maps. :D (Or you can go with one of those travel packages with a guide - that would work too, but you'd probably end up seeing less of Japan...)

If you save up, shop wisely when making reservations, and plan ahead, it's totally doable! I did my trip a little last-minute and it still wasn't horribly expensive. :BBB

I found out my brother is going to Japan for 6 months on a work visa... I wonder if I could hook up with him and cut costs to take a week trip out there?

Yeah - if he has a place you can stay at, that'd cut down on your costs considerably! And let him hang out a few months before you make the trip up there, so he'll know the general layout and how things work. X3 It helped us considerably having people who sorta knew the area

XD I've actually heard that before. Re: Anime. Okay.... actually it was more like, "video games". But still!

Like I said above - plan ahead, etc. etc... Actually, you can read the comments I made to people above. XD That way I won't repeat something if you did already read it. @_@;

I don't know what to say about the maiko thing, since my eye color is utterly wrong, my face shape not really right, and I am relatively tall in comparison to the average Asian chick. But I was told I was pretty by some of the Japanese people, so as long as you don't expect to look like 'yourself' when it's all done, you might enjoy it. Think of it as experiencing it from the 'inside' of the situation (ie: How it feels for you and what you see and sense while you are doing it.) rather than the 'outside' of the situation (ie: How other people see you.)

Yeah - I couldn't make it to AX this year either. :/ Maybe next year!

I don't know if I'd want to go to Japan again next year, but certainly within the next few. X3 Next year is a trip to Australia, actually! :B And possibly somewhere else, but we'll see how that works out. @_@

Sadly, those are the only photos I have of Japan (except for the crappy ones like the ones that were too blurry to show off or where Vikkeh, Joeh and/or I look like goonfish and no one wants that)! But Vikki said she'd send me the ones she took and I'd be able to upload those if I wanted. X333
