Last night Matt (R.) and I were celebrating his birthday all by our little lonesomes, Ithaca having become the studentless ghost-town it is, when i got a call from Chuck. Chuck was wondering if i would be available to help teach a Go Camp with Feng Yun on the 26th. It's a kids camp, and they apparently need someone to teach one of the groups of ( Read more... )

whoa-ho, can't be anything better for your game than a few rounds against the top go player in the states. this is awesome, as are you!

thanks! You should definitely get serious about it! i can't think of a better way to get to practice chinese, but maybe i'm biased (;

There wasn't a single caucasian kid in the bunch, it was very strange. The opening ceremony was conducted in chinese, and featured a team of chinese gymnasts from Broadway. It was very surreal, this hotel in the middle of the mountains in pennsylvania to be surrounded by what felt like the summer.

My chinese skills were ok, but almost everyone had a very thick taiwan-ese accent, so i didn't catch much
