   Ok, now it's Friday, and I really did mean to get back to post yesterday, because I had more to say on the disconnected theme, but I ran out of time.  And it's not that I don't remember the things I was feeling disconnected over, or that I'm suddenly not feeling disconnected, but I have achieved some distance from the events that left me with

It's really just a very technical way of saying what I've always known - that there is no love at first sight. There's lust at first sight, sure, but love takes work.

True. But the experience of feeling this lust at first sight and knowing what I was feeling was surreal, since it's usually a subconscious thing.
And actually, I've been thinking about love a lot lately, and I'm trying to change how I view it. I think it takes time, shared experiences, common values, agreements and compromises, similar goals and a decision to pursue those goals together, come what may. Some of that may be work, but I hope not all of it, or why would we want love?
