So it has been a surreal 3 weeks so far. Working at 16 E has been an amazing experience so far and I hope it becomes more rewarding as the summer rolls on. All my preceptors have been SO excellent that it makes my clinical experience during school look like SHIT. During clinicals, we get one patient and the nurses do not teach us. It always bothers me when we get nursing students in our depatment and all they're allowed to do is "shadow" an RN or help us(the PCTs). I mean, you're there to learn-how much are you going to learn from them when they've got you doing stuff that, let's face it, you're not very often going to have to do later on? It frosts my cookies! More than once have I apologized to a student when we don't have anything really juicy and interesting for htem to do. Our charge nurse had the last group making gown packs! Gown packs! Grrrr!!!!
Anyway-you're AWESOME!!!!! Happy to hear how well it's going! *hugs*
