You forgot about the obligitory dark dragon ball that can revive anyone with a human sacrafice so the evil guy's FOIL will of course sacrafice himself for the life of his master and all will seemed doomed for anime guy #1 until the trainer of #1 comes and throws himself into the blast to save his pupil thus starting a whole new storyline
