Specifically when the electric meter runs out unexpectedly, plunging house into icy darkness.
The pathetic, sickly light of
morningstar_lj's abandoned toys at least enabled me to find meter card, jacket and shoes and, following a brief venture out in the cold, light and heat are now restored

Electric meters...hmmm...never had the pleasure...Don't heat the flat though...Pleasant 0 degrees C keeps me from reaching my expiry date. Work pretty much outside, all day long so my flat seems warm after that ordeal...
