Twice in one week...

Now that I've gotten a little sleep since my previous entry, I want to share a little more.

It occurred to me that I'd forgotten to include that I and two others with whom I'd previously danced (they each choreographed a piece in which I danced for Dance USM!, as well as dance in Vivid Motion and take class with Maria -- see previous entry for clarification of these references) attended an open audition at Portland Ballet for their annual "Portland Dances!". It was hilarious, as the majority of dancers were literally less than half my age and appeared to have been studying ballet seriously for at least a decent while (the funniest moment was when, after one of the choreographers referenced Jethro Tull and the 70's, the entire field of dancers turned to face the three of us "old folks" -- and I was reminded that close to 15 years separate myself from my two companions. I guess you had to be there but it was just really funny). Needless to say, none of the three of us was asked to dance in the production, but this turned out to be for the best, as there is no way I would have been able to make rehearsals and everything around the time of my wedding. Unfortunately, LG and I didn't get to see the show but I'm sure it was good.

Also, LG and I did get to the In My Backyard Art Festival (scroll down for just a little blurb -- can't really find much about it online)... well, we "kind of" got there, 'cause it was pretty late. Though very late, the art installations that we were able to discern by the torch-lit pathways were quite intriguing, the performances under the tent (including one by PV-SCENE, something we'd been attempting to catch for quite a while) were pretty neat, and there was an overall 'good vibe' -- LG and I are determined to get there much earlier next year.

Regarding my previous entry, I should mention that I'm aware that "state of quandary" is redundant. :-)

Also, for a recap of the Boston Comic Convention, read thelemurgod's summary of the weekend.

There's certainly more about which I intend to write in the near future but this is all for now. Oh, and we did finally turn the heat on in the apartment -- it's freaking cold out (granted, it's October and it's Maine, so it's not unexpected).
