I spent a good portion of Saturday making a peach pie at my parents' house since my dad had a whole basket of peaches. We had some Sunday for dessert, and it was so delicious due more to the flavor of the peaches than to any culinary talent of my own. But it was my first fruit pie and my first two-crust pie, and I was very proud

I like food blogs. I've thought about making one, too, but instead I just occasionally put recipes up. I enjoy reading them, though.

I wanted to. My maiden name was already hyphenated, so I've dealt with having a hyphenated last name for 23 years, and it's not fun. So hyphenating wasn't an option. I'm at a point in my life where very little of my future career path will be affected by the name change. And I want my husband and I to kind of come as a unit, per se. We're a family now, and we wanted to have the same last name.
