Thanks for the response. I actually stopped using 2Wire when I got my own computer for college, but my family still uses it. I actually have no idea whether the problem has continued or not- I rarely use their computers now that I have my own. And we have never used wireless, largely due to the huge security issues.

So now I don't have to deal with the 'Gateway' user any more. Although I think I might prefer that to the rootkit I have now.

Btw- do I know you? If you're just randomly going through the archives, that's fine too (slightly creepy, but fine), but your style of writing seems really familiar. Maybe I'm just crazy.

I must say that this entry pretty much made procrastinating on my research paper worth it.

lol I'm glad. That makes my pitiful waste of time and extrordinary procrastinatory powers worth it.
