For the article, I think the school should find a company that sells skirts at the proper length for their dress code.
As for the cell phones... At the DMACC Boone campus, it's common to leave your cell phone on, but we turn them off or silence them right away if someone calls us during class.
Because I have to be there too, and it bugs me knowing I'm getting the sperm-zapping power of 1,000 suns (or cell phones) as I try to pay attention to the 2nd Law of Thermodynamics.
For the record, I leave my phone in my room whenever I go to class.
Have you ever seen "Thank you for smoking?" There's a funny bit in it about how cell phones are probably just as cancerous as cigarettes that's funny in an uncomfortably-true way.
