Before I moved to NY and while I was still living in Colorado, I remember worrying about finding a grad program that would be right for me. I started to look for programs in NY, and I eventually found one at a nearby college in New Rochelle. It was a Master's program in Spanish with a focus on Spanish literature. (Yuck! Let me be the first to tell you the importance of TESOL in this country. So often I find in my own world that there are people that have a need to understand India... whether its to take Indian Tradition classes, read some classic authors, or even make the cross-continent trip. I admire this, and sometimes feel as if I have taken a selfish path by not understanding my own culture more ( ... )

don't assume that someone cannot speak the English language.
An excellent point. In this case, I had a pretty good idea that she spoke only Spanish because this happens in our classes at the gym A LOT. Usually there is a Latina woman in our classes who always translates/helps, but she was gone the other day so I called on Kristin to step up.
