I'm going down to the Red Cross disaster services orientation tomorow. I'm thinking about taking a week or two off from school and kickin it in the big easy with the corpses, then maybe taking the winter quarter off to do rebuilding... Despite my efc is $24000 from him alone, I might not be able to afford to go to college due to my father and ( Read more... )

analog analog analog!

Anyway, that's fucking bullshit. I'm really not sure what else I can say other than I hope that things improve & that you can go to college [Evergreen, from what I hear, is really nice about financial aid - I'd give 'em a call].

yeah, that's going to be what I'll do most likely. I may have to get myself emancipated (or married), but I don't think I'll have any problem working things out. Hyperbolie is just much more appropriate when you haven't left the house for all too long.

we're kind of in the same boat. my parents make lots of money, the entire time i've been in college my efc has been 27k-22k. do i see any of it? not really (they bought me a car which i never asked for...). so i've had to take out lots of shitty loans in order to pay for school myself. the system's definitely flawed because no matter what you tell them, you're not dependent from your parents financially until 24 (unless you get married). you should definitely still go to school, you might have to suck up some loans or apply for every scholarship out there, but saying you have no money to go to school is a bad excuse for not being in school.
end rant.
and i really admire people who have the guts to go to the south. there's some whack shit going on down there right now.

yeah, I think I'll only go down there for a week. I doubt that I'll have any issue getting through school. I haven't left the house in awhile, and thus needed to vent a bit.
