No, not Mormon...do they use the term "elder"? Nah, it's just a garden-variety Christian church--presbyterian? I don't know! :D My thing is playing bass there, hehe...but, yeah, I call Ron an elder as he is an older man (in his 70s I think) and he's a trustee there--has some responsibility for the church building etc
You have family in Utah...have you ever visited there?
ah sorry. its just they all call missionaries and stuff elder 'surname'
and i hadnt heard that term used in other religions ! not that i have much exposure to them.
well my stepdad from utah moved over here with 2 of his kids and married mum a few years ago. everyone went to visit their family in utah about a year ago but i stayed at home, housesat and saved my engerlund moneys.
Oh yeah--I've heard of that with the Mormons, the missionaries who travel everywhere, they've even stopped by the house--two guys, both in white short-sleeves--almost identical! And the "elders" are really called "deacons" in this church--so Jay reminds me!
At best I am sort of an existentialist, which is to say my beliefs are kind of muddled but I talk about them a lot anyway (and often at great length--but you probably knew that already, amirite?)
How are you? What's the time there? Here it's 11:12 AM!
YAAAY! I remember getting my first piano, it's so exciting! I have literally just received a suggestion of chords by text from Mr Gemsy - he says try C, G and Em round and round. Hardly anything new, but he says it's 'gay'. I'm yet to try it, so I don't know what's gay about it. Hahaha.
We're on edge with excitement--the thing's massive, it's just amazing!!! It needs a bit of tuning but as I mentioned in the blog, this shouldn't be a problem...hmm, C G Em...I can hear it as I write (yeah--I got that gift, hehe) but I will try it out too--do you still have a piano? Wonder why he thinks it's gay--maybe 'cos it's just standard chords? Intrigued, I am--if I come up with anything I must give Mr G proper credit!
Look--you CAN'T have candy in your av here, it just WON'T DO, dig it? Now I'm HUNGRY :(
I read about Floyd--so has the bleeding stopped? give him a hug from Uncle Klyte <3
Wow, that's a lucky gift to have, haha. I might go and have a go at playing those chords later on and try and figure out what song it comes from! And I hugged Floyd for you, hehehe!
