Sami Salo and Mattias Ohlund.
Our best defensemen tonight. Not to take anything away from Jovo or Allen who were definitely solid, but these guys were our saving grace. What can I say? We wouldn't have made it out of the first period without them.

The D kicked ass. Except McCarthy. Preliminary reports state that I'm not a fan of him at all.

you think baumer was good? there's a reason pittsburgh put him on waivers last season.

I enjoy the reviews, so keep doing them if you have the time.

Agree with most of what you said. I feel a bit better about Baumer than you, but then again I wasn't able to see this game on TV because I was working. But in the previous games he looked up to the task for a 4-6th d-man.

So, keep up the good work if you like it- I'm sure more people read it than post here.

i'm not completely down on Baumer - like I said, he's great as a pointman on the powerplay, but that should be all he does. he's got no real tangible defensive skill.

my main thought about the game i haven't seen:

how many times did we win last year with naslund, morrison, bertuzzi combining for zero points? I don't think a lot. I love that we now can.

yeah, it would be nice if the naslund line could provide the Sedins with some secondary scoring once in a while though.

I'm scared. That's a dynasty right there. At least they're in the East.

Dynasties are a thing of the past. Hello salary cap.

The team's economically viable for at least five years, with possibly the exception of one of Chara/Redden.
