Yup, in tokyo. It is actually sort of hard to find women's capsule hotels. This one was a rather small one in shinjuku. Women's only place, Felt sort of cheap slumber-partyish. Lots of vanities to do up your hair and makeup and stuff, tv and massage rooms, a communal spa/bath thing typical of japan. And you get a locker and a capsule to sleep, as well as pj's to lounge in and a free drink from the cafe.
the capsule itself was not as claustrophobic as I expected. You can sit up in it. I don't remember if there were TVs in them...
Dunno, it was sort of a nice environment. But I've heard some of the men's ones are not as nice, since they are frequented more by loud drunken people who missed the last train instead of 20 something girls hanging out with friends.
hee! i browsed a website that explained the usual amenities for men, etc.
i read that some men don't even spring for the capsule (which usually had tiny for tv even w/ erotica!)-- but instead pay for the use of public rooms/facilities/etc. and sleep on chairs/couches instead...but wow. thanks for sharing your experience. and this whole post was rather poetical. i wish you so well! xojojo
