Heather, Jason, Chad and I all went to a thrift store a couple of weeks ago, but I'm just now getting around to getting the photos off my camera of the weird stuff we found.
Gods I wish we had these type of shops in the UK. Well, we do, but they dont have crazy stuff like this in them. The AIDS made me lol and that nazi stuff?? o_o is it even legal to have that in shops? XD
The double edged sword of free speech in the US is that you can pretty much display what you want, when you want. The weird thing is that even though that whole free speech thing is allowed, you can't have things that are sexually explicit openly displayed. Nazi stuff all you want but no pron... go figure.
Well, you'll take note of the play boy bunny lighter for sale. There's a difference between showing a symbol for something and showing the actual thing.
There are many places in the U.S. that you absolutely could not get away with displaying Nazi emblems, memorabilia, particularly if you were promoting the Nazi ideals with them (many of which fall under the classification of hate speech). Free speech has time and place restrictions.
There are legitimate uses for such items, like for museums or people researching for war films/history books etc. Many men are military history collectors or WWII buffs, and the Nazi's while they had many bad ideas did run a very effect military machine for many years.
Porn can't be publicly displayed (thank goodness), but it's readily available enough (sigh).
I knew it was the little sidekick, I just couldn't remember his name. I just can't believe this thing actually exists. I wonder if anyone ever REALLY had it in their home as an actual working phone? *laughs*
The tea balls really cracked me up too! The woman working at the thrift shop was staring at me oddly as I giggled and snapped photos. I'm surprised they didn't ask me to leave. ^_^;
That hat pin thing seriously wierded me out. It's like... beyond grotesque. It's like an antique Pinhead. *laughs*
