Well, with her Super Palin-Vision that lets her see Russia, I'm sure she just looks into the ocean and knows everything about oceanography.

After all, this world of trillions of species and ecosystems and physics we still spend massive computer sims trying to figure out, "can't be that complicated, right?"

Ya know, she comes from a state where fishing is HUGE business and understanding the different ocean flow patterns is commercially critical to catching fish. I am rather surprised that she cannot even make an accurate fishing reference. The self-parody continues...
