Who kills bamboo plants?

The one thing you need to do with bamboo plants is keep them in plenty of water. Done. I keep the little vase-thingy filled to the top all the time. They are low-light plants which work perfectly for my bedroom. So why is it that out of my two bamboo stalks, one of them is flourishing and the other one is turning yellow? I kill bamboo. I don't know how I do it, but I just don't work well with plants, I need animals who are verbal about their needs...

Check out the wiki page on Lucky Bamboo. Aparently, they aren't related to bamboo - kinda cool. I believe they are somewhat closer to corn (though not verified). Make sure you're water is non-fluorinated, but more than that, I've heard it actually helps to plant them in soil.
