thanks to everyone who gave very useful information in my previous post asking for laptop advice. of course, this week transfigured into a nasty tard and prevented me from replying. so sorry. D:

in any case, after much information gathering, i have decided on either of these two:

Toshiba Satellite A205-S5825

I have nothing really useful to say other than my Toshiba Satellite (A105-chuvachuva) has been very good to me. I don't play anymore so I'm not a good judge of how it performs gaming-wise, but I do use this for RO and Photoshop and all that shiz. Just 1GB ram. Ok naman. ;) My dad has a Pavilion but it's not like he plays games, does he?

Have fun choosing! :D

sabi nga nila Toshiba daw ang matibay. and yeah, Ragnarok Online naman yung isang game lang na naisip ko for it, so i suppose kaya naman nya. :)

thanks sa input!

I think it would be better if the video memory isn't shared. XD
I vote for HP. Separate memory and faster processor speed.

But that's just me. XD

Shared memory rin yung GeForce Go 7150M :)

Ah, yun lang.

Well, I don't really know how to compare the processors since I don't know much about AMD. But from the looks of it, there's not much to choose from. They're basically the same. o_O
But yeah, someone pointed out warranty and downgrading to XP. I think those should be considered too. (Because Vista could be a pain. DX)

yes, i am considering downgrading to Windows XP and mukhang mahihirapan ako to do that sa HP, so i may be choosing the Toshiba kasi mas may support sila for XP.

thanks sa input!

edit: sorry for the double-reply, just edited kasi nagkamali ako sa isang word haha! i will most likely get a paid account sa LJ if only for the convenience of being able to edit replies lol. XD

Between HP and Toshiba, I'd get the HP for the swivel screen. (Ang babaw ko.)

But if I had money I'd rather have a Tablet PC.

wah hindi swivel screen yung HP na ito. D: but damn yeah, if i had a bigger budget i would have gone for those tablet pcs na pwedeng swivel and may stylus and all.

thanks for the input!

Both laptops look about the same specs-wise, except the HP laptop runs on 64-bit processors, the Toshiba is 32-bit. HP does have the advantage of the vid card and the Altec Lansing speakers, though (and the nifty finger print scanner just in case you're paranoid about security :P).

If you want to use it for gaming though, check first if the games (or any other application) you will be running on it are compatible with 64-bit/32-bit processors (32-bit apps should run on the 64-bit hardware, but check anyway just in case). Also, since both come with Windows Vista, you might also want to check out if the applications you want run smoothly on Vista. If not, you need to also check if either laptop supports downgrading to/ have drivers for Windows XP.

Both of them are 64-bit processors, the T2370 is based on Core technology. :)

hindi naman ganon ka-hardcore mga games na gusto ko (Ragnarok Online lang haha), so i suppose the Toshiba would do well, most especially kasi mas may support yun for downgrading to XP than the HP one.

vista is not an option! lol. (ok, maybe in desperate circumstances. XD)

thanks for the input!

hay nako talaga! D: i don't like vista much. yung laptop ng kapatid ko vista and wala naman syang choice kasi nasa US sila and yun na talaga ginagamit ng lahat, but at least he has great support for it.

one of the things i looked at was if it was possible to downgrade to XP in either laptop, and mukhang yung Toshiba mas madaling i-downgrade than the HP one.

thanks sa input! ^^
