Delita
IT'S HERE!
my Dell laptop is here and it's so pretty. ;_;
i named it Delita 'cos it's a Dell. XD yeah, i'm corny that way, but Delita from Final Fantasy Tactics is bad ass and so is my laptop. :P
..and it's so shiny. *O*
i'm a touchpad noob kthx so i'm going to get a small mouse for it, wireless if the budget allows. a friend of my parents' thankfully bought a (rather humongous) Dell laptop bag for it, so it's well-protected if i ever need to take it outside.
i want to buy so many other accessories for it, argh. like a cooler, and a stand, and.. and.. decorate the black casing! with, say, typing correction fluid. OwO LOLs.
i've got ragnarok online installed already. XD the graphics, as expected, isn't spectacular, but it runs without lagging or hanging or anything, so that's fine with me. ^^;;
and yes, i had it "upgraded" it to Windows XP, lol. that's why i'm not having any trouble with it at all. Vista is really shiny, but when i tried RO on it, it couldn't open multiple clients without the other window freezing. =.= Vista really is too graphics-heavy that's why it couldn't handle two game programs running at the same time. maybe if i got 4GB RAM instead of 2, but such hardware really isn't too practical for my purposes. in any case, if ever a miracle occurs and Vista suddenly becomes amazing, i still have the reinstallation CD for it.
louie of PPC installed the XP drivers and important programs for the laptop. so when i set our router to have wireless encryption and i had to reset the wireless connection for the laptop, it took me nearly an hour trying to troubleshoot, meanwhile it took louie 3 seconds to type over YM "did you look at the 'Dell Wireless' options in the start menu?"
of course i didn't, being the wireless noob that i am. i didn't even know the Dell Wireless menu was there, i was trying to manually set up a wireless network in the Windows control panel, as it happens. =.= i cry.
but. Delita is up and running and i'm using him now to type this entry, yay.
speaking of which, i didn't know my LJ layout looked fugly in widescreen. >.> well, not really fugly, but there are empty spaces between the backgrounds because it was made for 1024x768. >.> must. change. layout. lol.
i command you all to change layouts so that it looks pretty on my widescreen.

seriously, thank you to everyone who contributed in the entire process, starting from my lusting for a laptop and ending in this moment in which i have Delita with me. :3
