Mocha's X-Ray
The vet thinks that Mocha was shot and that those white spots in the x-ray are bullets. She says that it is unlikely that the leg can be repaired and that it should be amputated. I asked about the cost of amputation. She made a call to a veterinary hospital in the area, and they estimated the cost at between $2,600 and $3,200.
Ack!
The vet asked me if I had good credit. "I can't go into debt over this," I told her.
I asked what would happen if we just left the bullets in place. She said that Mocha would be in perpetual pain. She suggested either amputation or euthanasia.
I called my mom in Berryville, Arkansas and asked her to call around to the vets in town and ask what it would cost to have a cat's front leg amputated. She made a few calls and got back to me with the answer: $300 - $400.

I have a court appearance on Monday here in Fucking Maryland, but on Tuesday morning I will put Mocha in the truck and drive to Berryville where I will get her attended to without selling myself into indentured servitude.
I had taken down the special PayPal donate button thinking that the money I had already raised would be more than enough to cover her care, and in Arkansas, it would have been. Anyway, I'm putting it back up. Any and all help would be greatly appreciated.
