I met with the landlord yesterday. Actually, all of the house mates met with her. It took 1.5 hours. ugh. At the end of it, I was given permission to stay in the house until Sept. 1. Yeah! I won't have to live out of the lab

why did YOU have to do the repairs?

Crown molding installation doesn't sound like something you should have had to do or foot the bill for. If the crown molding wasn't there when you moved in, it isn't your responsibility to put it there. If there's a hole, you patch it. If she wants it done better, she can drywall.

I shouldn't have to do the molding, but I didn't sign a lease. She can do what ever she wants. She still may not refund me.

You didn't sign a lease so technically she can't make you do crap...all that is laid out in a normal lease ;)
