A friend of mine is looking for elf books.  She's read Lackey's "Elvenbane" series, and I just handed her "Bedlam's Bard", but I'm coming up surprisingly short on other suggestions.  Any good elf authors I should know about?

p.s. wish me luck on the final I haven't studied for yet.  It's in 2.5 hours.

So I was really bored just now, and I decided to search for "bethans" on livejournal to see if I could come up with any alums I haven't befriended yet... I was startled to see this entry, which mentioned two fantasy series I've read. And Guy Gavriel Kay is awesome (someone suggested that in one of the comments).

Anyway, I'm Sarah, and I'm a rising sophomore in Bethans. I'm the webmistress now, too. Not to make you feel old, but class of '09. I hope you'll be able to make it to reunion this coming year!

Old is my 5-year reunion last month. Sigh. In any case, I'm hoping you're having a great time in the Purple Valley, and yeah, I'm hoping to make it to reunion this year. I went two years ago, but it wasn't well organized and there were only 4 other alums there. Last year, it looked like there wasn't any organization, again, and there were going to be only one or two other alums, and I was pretty swamped here anyway.

Is there on-campus interest in reunion still? I got the (maybe mistaken) impression when I attended two years ago that it was inconvenient for the students, and it didn't seem like anyone on campus had done any organizing, like signing up for a kitchen for a group dinner for example.

Well, I wasn't even on BAA, so I didn't know about it very far in advance. I found out, actually, from Alaya's LiveJournal. We did have a dinner, but there were only a couple alums there. We were interested in it, but I don't think there was too much planning involved. I really hope we can have a bigger one next year, and this time I'll be less clueless since I won't be a freshman anymore. Since we have lots of new recent alums (*sniffle*), maybe they'll want to come. It was really fun to sightsing all the old Bethans tunes, even without many alums there, and I'd like to meet more people next year.

Well, I'll try to help drum up alums if the reunion gets planned a little better this year. I still contact some of the even older alums, though I haven't seen many recently in person.
